Does late pregnancy backache feel like normal backache or is it different? Having escaped it so far, I have now been getting twinges of really unpleasant, something is grating on my spine ache and am wondering if this is likely to continue...

Here's something to cheer up all of you who are pregnant... Enjoy not having to suck in your tummies! :T I'd totally got used to letting it all hang out during pregnancy and it only just hit me now, 3 weeks postpartum, that I actually need to start breathing in again when wearing tight tops. Not fun at all. :o

Know how you feel Dormouse, caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror before shower this am & not exaggerating when I say I still look 20 wks preg lol....Huge bump! :rotfl: Lost 1st2lb after birth, just another 3 st to go then :rotfl: . This family sized Aero won't help though!
Been looking in baby names book and online, can't find anymore names I like so I guess Thomas David it is (David is dh middle name). Thanks for all your posts and comments, gonna miss this lovely forum!
Sounds like the race for second September baby hotting up, best of luck to everyone! Sooo exciting!
Forgot to say about Strep b if anyone else getting the antibiotics in labour, at our hospital they don't routinely test baby after to see if s/he ok. I had to request that ds be tested, later overheard that it costs £20 so this may be reason why?!

    Hiya all

Hope you are all having a luvvley day. The sun is bright and shining. This happens every September doesn't it ?

Oh Emma, I do so hope things happen for you soon. And they will, just not soon enough. Have to wait around and see if lack of Sarah means anything.

My friend had a little boy on the 7th. She lives back in Africa, and we had lost touch. It was her fourth, but first boy. Funny thing is, that for her 2nd, 3rd and 4th babies, I have been exactly 2 months behind her with my 1st, 2nd, and now third pg. Weird !

Had my wisdom tooth out yesterday, so I am no longer so wise. The dentist was absolutely fabulous and I hardly felt a thing. She is well worth her weight in gold.

Have to go back to proper work again this afternoon. My store was refurbished over the last month, so I have spent my time on holiday and doing boring training courses, although I did have an couple days in another store, learning the new operating system, which at least makes the day go a bit quicker. I officially have 5 weeks (think 20 shifts) left of work and then I can !!!!!! off. [STRIKE]Sad[/STRIKE] I know, but I feel a bit sad about it. CORRECTION MAD MAD MAD !
  • Hi all,

Firstly, congratulations Rachel! :T I think Thomas is a lovely name, I am using it as middle name as it was my grandad's name. Want it in there somewhere but don't want to name baby after him if you know what I mean? Not sure what I'm having so keeping my options open. Partner dead stuck on Pheobe for a girl. I like it but what you think? Thinking Pheobe Louise Alyssa?

Agutka, I have been having this type of pain the last few days. Like a grinding kind of feeling in my lower spine, hope it is normal! Let me know if you find out otherwise!

I have not been weighed at any of my appointments  with mw apart from booking in when she told me my BMI was high. (I knew it would be, just trying to lose some but then found out about babe so thought 'too late now'!):D

    sarah??????????????????????????????????????????
  • Agutka, my MW has just left and she asked if I had backache and I thought she was psychic or something! Anyway, turns out that my babe is lying in the back-to-back position which brings on the ache. I have been advised to spend some time on all fours :rotfl:as if she stays in this position I could be in for a longer labour!.

BP is still a little high and someone will be out AGAIN to check on Monday.

Emma, my BMI is, ahem, a little high :o and I have only ever been weighed at my booking in (much to my relief!).

Looking forward to hearing some good news from you and Sarah soon! :D

Are you sayin' I'm fat? Eh?
I've been weighed every time and actually at the booking in appointment my BMI was lower than expected :D. Now at least I know I am experiencing an average weight gain (13kg so far), rather than elephantine, like my mum and SIL did - 26kgs!

Sadie204 - I do work under the assumption that all this is 'normal'. You'd go mad otherwise! Are you and your partner fans of a certain charmed show by any chance?:p

  • Hey Girlies hope you are all doing fab :j

And congrats to all the newbie's

Bit of bad news, had a miscarriage on Tuesday night. Started bleeding on sat with a sore back and tummy but just thought it was my period. But when I saw the "tissue" (sorry if tmI:o ) i knew what it was. Called NHS24 who were great and my doctor confirmed it yesterday. My OH and I are devastated obviously but I know things like this happen.

Can anyone tell me how soon again can we try? Do we have to wait a certain amount of time? And is the risk of it happening again greater?

Sorry for all the questions but I didn't really want to stick around for a Q&A at my doctors yesterday.

Oh, sorrry about that Miss Pink. It may take a little while to get over, it may not. I was told when I had mine at 5 weeks (I did know though) that at that stage, as long as it all came away ok, and I had no temperatures over the next few weeks (go back to the docs if so as you may have an infection) to wait one cycle and try again. If there are any complications I believe it's three. We fell again two cycles later - I think it was a clear out in preperation for it then going ok IYKWIM.

    Good luck
Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early :D
