Checking in again, glad to see I'm not alone and emma, sarah and september baby still here too! 2 days and counting if hosp dates are right, or sunday if I go by my dates. Though the lady in the bank had great delight in telling me she went 4 weeks over with her baby
Slight niggles this am but never turned into anything....and the waiting goes on....
Glad to hear all went well at the hospital Agutka. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi, I feel a bit of an imposter over here on the pregnancy thread as I'm only TTC, but I had a question that someone might help with...
My periods are regular like clockwork, even down to the time of day they start, but I am now 3 days late. I have taken a test wich was negative (boo hoo) but wondered if that might still be too early to detect the hormone in some people?
There's no other reason it could be delayed that I can think of, no stress or illness, no worrying over whether we've conceived yet (when I say we are trying to conceive, I mean more like ready to conceive as in if it happens that's great, but not making a big deal out of it and taking away the romance of love making!!), but the test was negative and I'm wondering where my period is!?
Can anyone tell me if it does happen that the test is negative early on but positive a bit later on? If my period doesn't start, how long should I leave it until thinking something's not right and seeing my GP maybe?
I will probably re-test in a week if not started by then. Sorry if I sound a bit silly, we have done lots of preparing for this, there's not much I don't know about (due to my keen reading up on pregnancy related stuff) but after having extremely regular periods I am stumped by the non-appearance and apparant negative result!!0 -
I think all of the tests are meant to work once your period is due, and some work before hand. They aren't 100%, but are pretty accurate obviously. Good luck - I hope you get the result you want (if not now, then soon!)Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0

Hi honeypop, false negatives are common. I suggest you take the test first thing in the morning, when the HCG is most concentrated, or just wait a few more days (like any of us could!).
Hope you get the result you're hoping for!!:wall:0 -
im with Agutka, retest in the mornings, and tey again in a few days, it can also be if you ovulate late cycle too i think the hormones might not be present, im no expert though as wasnt TTC.
good luck hun xxxxxxxxxxxxx
ps im still here - checking in pm!
rachel im the opposit to you, my date is thurs and hospital date is sun, how strange!!0
