  • Rachel everything I've read has just scared me to death about it. If it says you need antibiotics 4 hours before delivery what happens if your waters break and labour starts straight away??? I am desperate for my midwife to phone back now, just had a phone call from the school saying my daughter isn't well either so off to collect her first.
They took my signature away!!!!

HI all, looking for advice here. I've just been phoned by the Doctors, I've got group strep B or group B strep whatever they want to call it, my homebirth is off, I am really really worried now, has anyone had/got this or any advice please!!

Hi, I have a leaflet on this somewhere...
Anyway, my SIL was tested positive and had to give birth (a month ago) with an IV drip with antibiotics, so the infection wasn't passed on to the baby. No big deal, except you can't have a homebirth which is a huge deal...

I'm off to the MW now, appointment three! (Just to think a few days ago all I wanted to know if the baby is right way round...) I can't wait for her to dismiss my symptoms. I really hope I get one who speaks english today... no offence meant... now which of the above 'illnesses' would I prefer?

My GP was 'worried' about my BP last time as instead of 130/70 it was 130/80. I told her it was because she hurt my arm checking it!
And I saw my notes on the computer highlighting lowish Haemoglobin.
So it could be either or both! As long as the baby stays put...
    :wall:

Agutka, I had some similar symptoms to you and I was anaemic and had low blood pressure - I hope your midwife is able to put your mind rest. Have you got long to go now? You seem to have been pregnant for ever! Good luck with your appointment today.

    Hi there.. BOOBYLOU!
WELL done for losing the weight.. how you doing it?

    Hi Lillian06,

I have just stopped snacking in between meals and am jumping on and off the stepping machine randomly throughout the day whilst listening to MTV Dance channel. Still got a fair old bit to lose though :o but it took a while to go on, so its going to take a while to come off I guess.

I feel quite relaxed about TTC at the mo. Yes, I am interested in maximising my chances wherever I can but I know the last thing that will help me is to get fixated on TTC which ultimately will stress me out. I am try to enjoy every bit of the TTC experience, so is DH LOL :D .

    Agutka,
Hope everything goes ok with your appointment this afternoon.

    Sarahmoon,
Awwww thats a shame about the home birth/strep/IV drip thing. Sounds like its for the best, even if it is frustrating  Hopefully the midwife will put your mind at rest.

    rachelja,
Blimey you are nesting arent you. Take it easy this afternoon eh!

  • Agutka I've had a lot of 'visual disturbances', white lights or flickering, a weird tingling in my arms and palpitations - each time I've expected a panic attack but it's always subsided. Midwife says I should rest more. Hope yours is reassuring.

Sarahmoon, a colleague of mine has strep, she just had an injection during her labours, and no more worry after that. I'm sure you'll be fine, and will feel better when you are more informed.
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o

How come while you're actually pregnant it feels like forever, and then when you look back on it a few weeks after the baby arrives, it suddenly seems to have gone by in a flash?

I do miss my bump though....well, actually, I still have a bump, but I do miss my reason for having a bump...;)

Hahaha, no, I just still can't tear myself away!

I'm slowly resigning myself to the fact that I am no longer pregnant , but I love hearing how everyone is getting on with their pregnancies, and get so excited when I hear someone has given birth!
