i have no idea what pain relief i will use, or want, or need! am just going to see what happens and how i cope. hopefully i will get the water birth i want and use some gas and air, but the reality might be somewhat different!

let us know what the midwife says, when i had my leak last week she said put a pad in and if its wet after one hour its your waters ?

Hi emma, I phoned the midwife and she said it could be membrane leakage or just pressure on my bladder. If it persists tomorrow I've to go to go and get checked out. But as I'm being really lazy now and not moving much (I can't given my swollen foot anyway) theres not much happening, baby has really no room to move though and kicks and movements are getting really uncomfortable.
They took my signature away!!!!

i hope all is well for you tomorow, you do right chilling out, we have a family party to go to, i have nothing that fits and i look like a whale i am not happy! and i just know i will get at least 20 "look at the size of you" comments which i am really starting to get wound up by. do you think non-pregnant people would be offended if i commented back on their size or weight?! tempting.............

    (ps must be the hormones)
  • :j Congratulations Dormouse - you had the labour I always wanted! Glad it went so well for you & hope you're managing to get some rest!

Emma - I can remember getting really fed up with people commenting on my size with my ds! Complete strangers used to stop me & say kind things like "Oooh aren't you so BIG! I'm suprised you can stand up without falling over!" & then some of them would go on to grope my bump  What is it about being pregnant that suddenly makes you public property? I went to a party & saw some guests I hadn't seen for a few years. Many commented on my weight & my getting stuck in a steamer chair provoked fits of laughter. My ex-husband & my best mate were laughing so hard they could hardly stand to get me out of it! As I tried to gather my dignity & waddle off to the lav another "friend" said I must be having quads as I was such a hippo! I snapped back that at least I'd lose my weight before the week was out...:D & she has never spoken to me since!

And what about all those helpful opinions from the world & her husband  When people asked me if eg: I was going to breastfeed or bottle feed I'd say "Gosh I just don't know. What would you like me to do?" Usually suts them up!

Good luck to everyone - just waiting a few more days to do the test, but am quite sure I'm not pregnant...
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

Don't forget it's a bank hol weekend. Everything always happens at weekends, when it's so hard to see a doctor or midwife. I always get something wrong with me on Friday nights!
Although I suppose we always have the hospital...

  • Emma_ B - With My Last 3 Pregnancies I Only Knew I Was In Labour When I Had Severe Lower Back Pain. My Waters Never Broke By Themselves With Any Of Them.

Redflame - I Am 13 Weeks And Have Started Buying. Partly Because I Can't Resist It But Also To Spread The Cost. Also I Have 3 Other Children And It Is Nice For Them To Buy Something For The Baby. The Main Thing They Have Bought Is A Teddy For It, But Also Sleepsuits And Things From Asda When We Have Done The Shopping.
    now mum of 4!!!

  • Hiya - I'm 20 weeks pregnant and think I've started feeling the baby this week. When I feel him moving, it feels like little bubbles, but I also think I've been feeling the odd kick. It almost feels like wind, but is definitely in 1 particular spot and i feel it then it disappears.
I've got my 20wk scan on Tuesday, so I'm hoping I can see the baby kick and feel it at the same time so I know it's definitely a kick - does that sound daft??

Just wondered how everyone else would describe it, as I feel silly not knowing if it is actually kicks or not
    Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £1200

when they first start moving it does feel a bit like a gurgling windy tummy and i think the more you have the earlier you seem to feel it theres nothing better when you start getting the feeling of baba moving,s it probably was, good luck with your scan xxxx

Sorry not been in for a while. Just to say baby James Henry arrived safely weighing in at 11lb 3oz by section. Loads of hair like his brothers and also eats endlessly!
