Hi everyone x
I had my first midwife appointment today - was not that exciting really. I am 11 + 2. Still it is all feeling very real now.
Got my scan date too - Aug 20th Yipeee x
Slightly depressing is that my trust old jean have gotta go -Belly is getting fat and although I can just do them up they are cutting me in half! Yikes x Thought it was a bit early for that but I can see myself in maternity trousers pretty soon.
When you do lot start wearing maternity stuff?

I started maternity leave on 27th july (3 weeks annual leave to take!) and now I'm bored
and just want baby to arrive!!
I've cleaned the cars (2) inside and out, done the housework at least twice, cleaned out the cupboard under the sink, packed my hospital bag. Pulled a load of weeds out of my flower beds, trimmed bushes in the garden, been to pay cheques into the bank etc. Unless I start cleaning windows (which I hate doing!!) I'm gonna spend all my time on these forums if I'm not careful.
Can't decide what to do with myself now, might be really reckless and clean out some more kitchen cupboards :rotfl: No, can't be bothered with that either!!!:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009

Alison6692 - I'm 29 weeks and haven't got one bit of maternity wear. Cheating a bit really as buying large size tops (normally size 12-14 and now buying size 22 t shirts out of Matalan / Asda). When it comes to trousers either wearing my summer linen drawstring trousers under bump or cheated again and bought size 18 £10 trousers from Matalan.. actually have a pair of my normal size 16's on today but wearing under my bump... I'm such a cheapskate !!Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0

I was thinking about just buying bigger sizes too but do you find them comfy?
I am fine with tops as I have lots of these tops that look like maternity tops anyway! Love the fashion at the mo - not very flattering if you are not PG I suppose.:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0 -
I know what you mean about the tops, fashion favours the pregnant at the moment... Trousers wise... with bigger sizes I just wear a belt and as I am all front at the moment - under bump works for meMum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0

I've got one pair of maternity jeans from Vertbaudet and they're the most uncomfortable thing ever! They really bug me, and it bugs me even more that I paid more for them than I did for any of my other maternity gear.
I guess it all depends on what you like to wear anyway. I'm a dressy/skirty type of gal, so I've got loads of floaty things that I can still wear either underneath the bump or Simon Cowell-style, waistband underneath the boobs :rotfl:
But yes, I agree about the fashion at the moment being very favourable to us - but there's no way I'll be buying tunic tops after the baby's born as I'll just feel pg again! :rolleyes:0 -
I started wearing maternity trousers early on, just for comfort - tight waistbands are evil to the plumper waistline. But as I grew a bump I found myself pulling out tops I'd never wear before, because they were tight across the tummy. Now I'm allowed to show the tummy off and I'm loving it.
Shame I'll just be fat again in a few weeks.
Fac, get off the forum and get nesting!:wall:0 -
I have stretch marks and it's like they just climbed onto my tummy one night while I slept and set up camp there like a little hippy commune - i.e. there's LOADS. I am consoling myself with chocolate.
:rotfl: :rotfl: You should start naming them before they fade!
I had the docs appointment yesterday and she said all my bloods etc were fine. So I asked shouldn't I be getting high BP or anaemia or diabetes (due to high BMI) and she said... you should be fine, as long as you're eating a healthy diet :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:. The level of my chocolate consumption is waaaaay beyond consoling. I should get shares in Galaxy...:wall:0 -

I usually only have one a day... honest
OH has commented that I only eat anything savoury so that I can have chocolate afterwards - he doesn't appreciate that not only is this perfectly true but I think I'm being so good because of it :rotfl:
and I'm wearing maternity stuff just cos my bump is so big in comparison to the rest of me - I can still get into size 10 and 12 non maternity stuff except for the bump but can't even fit into half my maternity tops cos the bump sticks out so much - I've tried on lots of bigger non maternity tops but they're so high at the front that it looks odd - but not long to go now and I'll be able to wear real clothes again that aren't pull up jeans etc :T0
