erm not sure what we did to make it happen tbh. I'd gone from a size 14 to a size 10 in the year previous, was the fittest I've been in years, ate well and healthily and I always knew when I was ovulating so we did the deed at around the time but we weren't really trying and got a real shock when I ended up pregnant.

emjem you may be ovulating very early or late not everyone ovulates at the average time.

Ha, I had the same thing last night - was feeling very pleased with myself :rotfl:

I've generally had good sleeps for the last few nights - don't want to jinx it, but it makes such a difference to the rest of the day. Here's hoping this will continue right up until the birth :j
    Amen sista!! :rotfl:

I spoke to my doc about the ovulation tests and he advised me to ignore them. When I used the Clear Blue one last month it said I didnt ovulate but I know I did as I had my period. I have slight pcos and it can cause the test to give false readings so iv been advised just to "do it":j around the 14-16 day mark after the last of my period.

The egg is good for 48 hours and the swimmers work for up to 5 days:eek: ( wee champs ) so Mr Pink gets lucky every 2-3 days just to be safe ;) .

    Now for the sciency bit......:T

From what iv read if you dont ovulate, then you dont get a period as its the egg that hangs about in the tube for the swimmers to do their business, and if they dont then it goes into the uterus where it sticks to the wall lining then breaks down to make a period.

Im pretty sure that the ins and outs of it but correct me if im wrong? :o

Hmmm that's what I thought miss-pink re ovulate = period. Wish I had listened more in GCSE Biology!
Well, we shall see what happens in the next week or so when my period is due, and I shall try and stay positive.

Hi, I'm measuring off the scale for my last two visits now as well. First time nearly a week ahead and last time a week and a half ahead (Measuring 35 1/2 weeks at 34 wks). Not as much as you I know but it still worries me. Mw seems completely unconcerned but I am going to bring it up at next visit. She said charts are mainly to monitor for small babies but I am going to bring it up again.

my midwife said yesterday that if its 2 cm (thats 2 weeks) either way then thats within the normal perimeters, so it really is nothing to worry about, but if its more than 3 either way then it needs to be checked out...
hence me getting an appointment as soon as poss because im measuring 5 weeks ahead!

my only advice for getting pregnant (and its worked twice for me now) is to stop taking all the precautions and have lots of NO PRESSURE sex!!
we decided to have my coil removed and just have our normal sex life and when it happened... then it happened, i wasnt temping, i wasnt taking handfuls of pills every day, doing special diets or driving myself and everyone else crazy
we just had LOTS of fun ;) and waited
i think being as relaxed as possible when TTC is not so much overlooked, but under rated,
ive known a load of girls so stressed out and desperate to concieve that it takes over their lives and effects thier relationships... and most of these girls are STILL trying...
I had a rough clue but my OH had no idea when i was ovulating and i didnt wait until i was to jump on him!
i believe it can really effect his all round performance if he thinks your only interested to get a baby, not because you just want him...

obviously i might just be the lucky fertile type, but i think stressing, worrying and being massively devastated when your period arrives every month is very hard on your body, and will have a negative effect when TTC

Hi, I think that you still have a period even if you don't ovulate, and women don't always ovulate every month. I ovulate late in my cycle and I got pregnant on about day 19 of a 30 day cycle, so you may just be missing it. I thought ovulating late might be a problem but it didn't seem to be and I got pregnant quickly. It might just be that you are doing it at the wrong time!! I found the easiest way to notice was CM changes - sorry if that's a bit tmi!!

CM changes and pain low down in the right hand side of your stomach
I never realised that it was ovulation pain (it used to cripple me) Its another way of mother nature taking the p!ss....if it feels like one of your pipes is going to go bang, why not jump into bed with your fella....
