Thats just sooooooo unfair! :D I've just tried desperately to see if mine has arrived but, alas, no! (as far as I can tell :o).
Not only do I suffer from Bump Envy but now its Line Envy too  :rotfl:
Trust me, it's nothing to be envious of. Anyway, you might still get it too - I've no idea why I developed one now (with DS, I got it a lot earlier)

As for seeing it, I had to contort myself into all sorts of positions in front of the mirror to actually see it. :rotfl:

Speaking of fun things, I'd forgotten how fun it is to unexpectedly phone one's DH at work when heavily pregnant - it's the scared voice on the other end of the phone that makes me chuckle. :rotfl:

Sorry Dougggie, I am pregnant (ha ha) and don't understand.

Were you an employee of the old / first company ?
How did you become the first employee of the new company?

Heh, don't worry, it's a confusing thing for me and I kind of know what I mean :p
I'm the first external employee to be taken on after the new Co was set up, so TUPE doesn't apply in my case, however have been there 6 months now and had been sneakily checking out the policies as soon as I joined :rotfl:
Good-ish news is that my boss *thinks* they've covered the lack of incentive to come back to work by giving 6 wks at 100% followed by 6 weeks at 90%, plus a 5% sweetener for me as they do want me back....but until I see it in writing I won't hold my breath! Still, that would be a big boost.
Disturbingly for the old Co, their HR director didn't realise they had the 20% clause and has now had the policy removed from the intranet whilst seeking legal advice on if they can get away with removing it completely!
  • I've been reading lots of threads recently on having children and money issues and I'm probably going to be thrown off MSE () for being brave enough to admit that money only fleetingly whisked through my mind when DH and I discussed starting a family :o. My first and foremost worry was could we actually have children  as we know a few couples who had tried for years without success.

Don't get me wrong, we are by no means rich but our desire to be parents outweighed everything else (I guess we will be the first in line for a major shock when baby arrives :rotfl:).

Am I in a little club all on my own? :o

Okay I understand. The 'old' comapny policies unfortunately do not apply to you.

I am glad I went over the to new contracts when they were offerred (well forced upon us - sign or resign) as I found an old staff handbook and the maternity benefit was bog standard. At least now I get 3 months at 100%. One clause I noticed, was that I have to return to work at the end of maternity leave, otherwise I will have to pay back the 'top up'. However, as it doesn't specify how long I have to go back for, as far as I am concerned, I can resign before I go back, and as long as I work one day whilst working my notice period, I will have fulfilled my side of the obligation !

nope, im there with you hun :D
if we waited til we had "enough" money, then we would all die barren and childless and the human race would die out!

money didnt even come into our descision to start trying,
we will manage... and thats all there is to it!
