Eels - sounds like you have had a wonderful first week with your baby (OH's relatives aside), you sound a complete natural and sticking with the breastfeeding will be so worth it.
Re breast pumps - my friend bought a hand pump before her baby arrived, but had to send DH out to get an electric pump after a few days as she found it so difficult to get any decent level of output and found the electric one much better, especially as you're having twins you'll probably need twice the output so may be better off .0 -
no i didnt see it i do try to keep up with this thread but it does get busy!
we have a sproggs sport pram http://www.sproggs.co.uk/welcome.htm
we didnt buy the seperate carrycot as it has a cool design where the seat lays flat and you buy a mattress and it becomes a carrycot we are very happy with it its funky looking (for hubby!) and practical - seat faces both ways, can use with just car seat, turns into carrycot, easy to fold, everything we were looking for really.
oh, and in laws paid for it so even better!!!
thanks for help on what to pack i will just take a couple of vests and sleepsuits in and if need any more hubby or mum can bring some, we only live 5min from hospital0 -

She has been breast feeding for the last 4 days but is having real truuble with her nipples. They are very tender and bleeding. She has done amazing up to now so am looking for some advice. I went out last night and bought a breast pump and she has been expressing today.
Anyone have a similar story, what was the eventual outcome? Any advice??
Thanks
Congratulations, and Isabelle is a lovely name.
I BF DS1 for 19 months and DS2 for 18 months (ie my qualifications). I imagine your wife's nipples are agony and some kamillosan cream, as suggested by helend, should help. It is really just a settling in thing, as the nipples get used to be sucked so much. A little bit of blood wouldn't do any harm to baby either. A chat with the HA might be in order, just to confirm that baby is latching on properly (I got this wrong twice with DS2 and paid with cracked nipples), and since we are having some wonderful weather, a bit of breast exposure to the sun would do wonders too.
If you wife isn't over the worst of it today, it won't be more than a day or two.
Congratulstions, once again, to both of you.0 -

And my DS2 has discovered that it is 1st August too, and 'it is my birthday next month'. Bless him0 -

sorry i meant the seat of the pram lies flat to form a carrycot - i think it shows you on the site. the car seat is good too its light but has all the safety features, light to carry though is a real bonus!
i think it cost £210 for the pram, then £40 for the mattress to turn it inot a carrycot, and £70ish for carseat.0 -
