Thanks WelshLassie - I think I am going to go have the anti-emetics. Its really hard as hubby doesn't want me to take anti-emetics and as I am never sick - there is no real harm to me or the baby and he says why risk it. But I think I have had no life for the past 3 weeks and just think why not take them for a while.

Did you have to have time off work? Thats my main problem is that I have never had so much time off work - by this weekend I will have been off work for a fortnight. Eeek and I feel terrible about it, but also can't even think of going back at the mo.

Thanks for your advice x Alison x

PS - the stabbing pain seems to have gone this morning.

Glad your stabbing pains have gone. You have to do what you think is best for yourself. Cyclizine is safe in pregnancy the same way paracetamol is, otherwise they wouldn't prescribe it. I was off work with the sickness a week before and a week after Christmas, it would have been longer if I didn't have holiday booked over Christmas and new year. I was lucky in that I worked from home 3 days a week so could fit my work in around the times I felt ok and work were really understanding.

The number of times I diverted my phone through to my mobile and took my mobile to bed with me, was nobodies business. Work never knew, as long as I answered my phone or got back to messages reasonably promptly they were fine. Only go back when you feel up to it, they can't penalize you for it as it is pregnancy related.

We didn't bother decorating as such, the room was already cream, we just bought some bedding I fell in love with and stick some form animals on the wall. One of our friends is a fab artist and is doing us some teddy bear canvases for the other wall. Baby can't see the room anyway to start with so we thought we'd decorate once we know what it is and they are big enough to need a decorated room.

Thanks Welshlassie and Mazcabs. Can I ask where you found your bedding? I quite fancy a neutral room but can't find any exciting bedding anywhere!!

    Hiya

My friend doesn't know what she having and has gone with a jungle type theme - it looks fab.

Here is a pic of a Beatrix Potter theme CLICK

My idea is to have a polka dot theme - with light blue walls and then have lots of pastel polka dot - With polka dot wall paper borders, blankets, stuff like that.

You could go WhinnIe The Pooh CLICK

This one is quite neutral CLICK

This elephant theme is quite cute CLICK

This is my absolute favourite - Not very MSE. Mama's and Papa's Nostalgia range CLICK

Hope that gives you some inspiration x

I'm money saving to the extreme and cheating really cos most of my bedding and well literally almost everything else from pram to steriliser is coming from my sister as my nephew is only 3 !!

I'll be getting a new matress for the cot but thats about it at the moment as my mum got the last one for my sister. The cot was actually what my mum had for all of us some 36, 39 and 41 years ago!! Now that is money saving !!
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.

No amount of pillows is enough in bed, and I was taking up so much room this morning that when OH tried to turn over in his sleep he fell out of bed!! :o poor lamb, he didn't even complain just kissed my grumpy face and held my hand till I fell asleep again.

:rotfl: Lucky you! When I was woken up by the loud thump of my OH falling out of bed a few nights ago, next thing I knew a hand came flying to hit me in revenge . Except I was at that precise moment miles away on my side of the bed, away from my pile of pillows, so they got the brunt of his displeasure.
Holding your hand till you fell asleep... I'll have to dream that one :rotfl:

He has adamantly denied it of course

:rotfl: at least your revenge was instant - over, done with - mine might be plotting against me as I type

Just blame the baby next time :A
  • We're looking for inspiration for our nursery only we don't know what we're having. So many of the unisex designs seems to be so safe, eg, cream with a bear on. Would rather get co-ordinated range as it is easier and I am not know for my design skills!! Has anybody got any recommendations of where to look? I'm nearly 28 weeks now and starting to panic that we haven't even started buying!!! Many thanks!!

these websites look pretty cool for ideas if nothing else! http://www.allkids.co.uk/Childrens-wall-coverings-stickarounds-and-borders.shtml

my mum is making the curtains (yellow background with cute bugs on)
and basically the rest of the room will look like this, we are going to paint the room yellow, and we have this border and these stickarounds

ut at the moment, the room is FULL of crap
we will get round to it eventually  :D

    Hiya everyone

Just thought I would share my fab freebie I have just picked up. I ventured out a while ago to pick up hubby's suit and popped into Boots with my free changing bag voucher I recieved today and its fab! They reckon the RRP is £29.99 very good quality with a changing mat too. All I had to do was buy a pack of pampers nappies - Brilliant freebie and really cheered me up.
