    Thank you!!

People keep asking me how I'm going to cope and I keep telling them I have no intentions of coping i'm just going to drink a lot of gin and stay in my nighty all day :D

I really want pate and have been reduced to princess beef paste, to satisfy my itch, reminds me of school packed lunches, it was either that or chop pork in our house, disgusting.

The other day I was in the kitchen and really wanted some of that cheap baileys like stuff that asda do for about £3, I only had it once about six years ago, it took me at least 30 secs to remember why I couldn't just jump in the car and get some.

Ha Ha - Life is going to be very fun in your house for the forseeable future !
One of the nurses I work with has 2 girls in the same school year - She got pg when her first was only 2 months old - eeek. They are really close - like twins really.

God I can't think getting past this nausea - far less actually have a baby! Yikes x

    why?

you know what ive wanted since i got pregnant? (apart from booze, peanut butter and prawns with everything... )
    deep friend brie *drooool*

deep friend brie with a bit of salad and lots of yellow pepper

    oh god, this isnt helping!

    ps- congrats Phatmouse :)
you can have deep fried brie as it's cooked (although I'd eat brie anyway if that's what my body was asking for but that's a personal choice) and I'm eating peanut butter daily at the mo as I need more protein and I just can't face chicken and don't really do any other meat (except the odd sneaky bacon butty :D ). I do really want pate though but I think that's a step too far (although I nearly caved today....) but unless I KNOW it's been properly prepared and stored it's just not a good option. I've got my eye on some in the local farm shop for when the baby's been born though :D

I do still look longingly at the gin bottle as well... but then I know one smell and I won't be interested so I'm sticking with the fantasy ;)

I've just been to a friends to pick up a load of baby stuff - OH is already moaning about it taking up too much room  Have scored a whole load of size one shaped nappies though and enough clothes for the first 3 months for about 4 children :rotfl: I shall root out anything I hate and stick it in the loft and the rest will have to be sorted into winter and other stuff so that'll keep me nice and happy for the next day or so :D

    congrats Phatmouse!:T

i know i could actually have brie if it was cooked right... thats what makes wanting it even worse! lol :D
I really want peanut butter but as i cant trace my family history at all and i know what a nightmare peanut allergy is, i figured that i can go without for 9 months and spare myself a possible lifetime of worry!
the only time i think about pate is when i find myself holding a giant slab of it at the supermarket! lol
and i dont really want a drink, i know i dont....
its just being told i cant have one makes the rebellious side of me surface and think "who are you to !!!!!! stop me!" :D

i have to say i hadnt thought about the mcdonalds milkshakes, ive had a few aswell (i went through the 'gotta have fries' stage too) oh well....

too much of this nonsense can make you nuts (mmmnn... nuts)
ive had a ton of ham sandwiches and the amount of girls on that american site i was on about who are so shocked by this is ridiculous!
i ate my weight in ham when i was expecting my DD and nothing happened... and apart from mama cass, i dont know anyone who has been worse off for eating a ham and pickle on white!
im pretty sure they only decided about this 'you cant have ham now either' rule after i got pregnant anyway, and by then i had already had some... so NER!

all the women out there who are pregnant and too selfish to give up the drugs, the booze and the fags and miraculously end up with healthy (ish) babies....
and here we are worrying about milkshakes and cheese!
    !!!!!!! :rotfl:

Just caught up with the thread and you girls have me drooling... I can't say I've stuck to the rules to the letter - had the odd peanut m&m whenever OH has had a bag, still having the odd glass of wine or half a lager and not feeling guilty... I've drawn the line at pate too but ohhhhh am I so looking forward to having some. All my cravings seem to have gone through phases, I never did manage to shake off the haribo one though and am still eating at least a bag a week of the stuff. I am not in the slightest concerned with weight gain (about 2 stone at 28 weeks) but that is one habit I hope to leave behind once babe is here. Still can't get enough beef (minced beef pie, yum), diet coke, mashed potato, and crisps! But I'm getting my 5 a day now - and I wasn't for a long time. I think I lived on ready salted crisps and plain rolls (with butter if I was feeling adventurous) for the first four months.

Had an appointment with my midwife earlier this week and managed to discuss wanting a home birth, luckily she was extremely positive about it and quite relaxed, said we will talk about it again at 34 weeks, so I'm starting to relax... and the NHS are able to put me on 2 out of the 4 classes, I am still contemplating one of the private ones but would £90 be better spent? A lot of you said the classes didn't really stay with you, so I am not as concerned about the lack of them as I was.

Also MIL is like a different person, and rather than being bitter like I thought I might I'm finding it quite easy to be welcoming, it's been nice to hear her talk about when she was pregnant etc :j

Back to work tomorrow... hoping to last three weeks and then go, forever and ever...

Well girls, I've just finished a bowl of wholesome tattie soup with a side of tomatoes and was feeling very virtuous. Then I read this thread and am now salivating over the very idea of chicken liver pate on hot brown toast with a large glass of Chilean red. OH is under strict instructions to deliver the above to me immediately on arrival of baby, come hell or high water.

Went to get myself measured for a nursing bra today and despite the lady in mothercare measuring me at an F/G cup  we plumped for the DD because I told her that was ridiculous (F was baggy, honestly!). She looked at me a bit funny but she didn't argue, I think she could smell the hormones! :o. Anyway, she asked when the baby was expected - "Tuesday morning" I replied, at which point she evidently decided I was quite, quite mad and left me to it!

I've got my arnica, lansinoh cream for my nips, mesh knickers, jumbo mega super plus ultra pads ... I better have everything because tomorrow will be busy - dogs go to kennels, I have to clean the oven and do a last housework blast then get to hossie for 2pm for pre-op appointment. Then they're letting me come home overnight so OH and I will have a last supper (prob chinese :)) and watch some DVDs then lie awake in bed all night worrying about Tuesday.

If anyone can think of anything I might need or should ask at my appointment tomorrow, please let me know because I think I've left my brain somewhere silly (TBH I suspect it fell down the back of the bedside table one fateful night last November) :D

Eels, you are going to meet your baby on Tuesday! Has it really sunk in yet?!?

I was going to ask about dogs and kennels. My pooch has been my only baby for the last few years and I feel mean about putting him in for a few days but think it would be easier on all of us. I just know I would be worrying about someone leaving the front door open or something!

    Hiya

Just wondering has anyone experienced a sharp stabbing pain in lower abdomen when they cough?

I am not sure but I may of pulled a muscle wretching or something but it catches my breath everytime I cough or move in a wierd way.

Just looking for some words of wisdom?

And anyone who knows about what anti-emetics are safe in pregnancy would be useful too? My GP said he would consider cyclizine if the nausea has not stopped by next weekend.

    TIA

I've just come back from a friend's birthday picnic. And there were people there with a huge jar of yummy pate, smearing it on fresh baguette. You should've seen my face! Quite quite mad...

Fac, great news about your MIL! hope it stays that way.

Eels, what can I say... ...erm...I mean :j

And I myself have been trying to explain to my pup, the love of my life , about why I'm getting bigger and what's gonna happen, but I don't think she understands. I didn't consider kennels... great idea, thanks girls.
