Your contacts were probably saved to your virgin sim, as were your text messages. You'll need to transfer them to your new sim.

Hi MUNT, sorry I didn't explain myself at all well.

The texts and contacts lost were the ones on the 02 sim card from my old phone, I assumed they would still be on the sim when I put it into the Lobby???

There is a lot of software available for WM5 phones.

I have GPS running on mine, Fizz Traveller and Metro - an excellent free program which will plot a route between 2 stations on the underground system in 350 countries. There is a free weather forecast program here, although Fizz is superior. Other free essentials include Keylock and SmartMonitor.

Well, my unlock code came today. Stuck my Vodafone sim in and called Vodafone for the settings - they've never heard of HTC phones and don't sell any Windows Mobile smartphones, so couldn't/wouldn't send me the settings to set my phone up for vodafone's GPRS, MMS, etc. A text came through from them to activate my online account, which was odd considering I haven't set the thing up for textx on vodafone yet.

    Vodafone do sell smartphones

In that case, the contacts and texts on your old phone will have been saved to the phone memory, not the sim. Stick the sim card back into your old phone and copy the contacts to the sim. Not sure how you'd get the text messages on there, to be honest.

Thanks for that. I spent an hour on the phone to Vodafone CS yesterday and they insisted they don't sell smartphones and hadn't even heard of HTC. Heh - I forgot I had the phone set to record calls. Was funny listening back on the conversation after.
