    Thanks ray
I have written to them recently, and have explained about my circumstances of my health and have enclosed a budget sheet for them. They are pobably peeved because they can't hassle me with phone calls.
I will write the them again.
Hope things are going well for you.
    Thanks again.:A

I think looking back one of my catalogues that went to a DCA they made a bit of noise and then sort of lied down and accepted it.

But I never ring any of my companies and I wore them down in the end.

Take care and I hope you feel better soon!
  • Hi there,

although I don't post very often, I do read the forum a lot and find it so helpful, especially when I'm feeling down.

Perhaps I can help someone else now.

    Hello ireneh.

I started my DMP with CCCS on June 1st and share some of the same creditors as you.

Capital One were great - they were one of the first to accept and have stopped interest.

Egg called me very quickly after the DMP letters went out. I was scared to talk to them on the phone, but they were really nice and just explained what would happen next. They are defaulting my CC 28 days after first payment is missed and will then stop all interest. Mentioned something about and internal DCA rather than external, but not sure how true that is really.

As for Barclaycard - I haven't heard anything from them at all!

My thoughts go out to everyone who's feeling down at the moment!! :A

My father-in-law died last week and I just feel over-whelmed at the moment dealing with all the family matters as well as my finances.

Just had a letter from Lloyds TSB CC confusing me as well! CCCS first offered them £58 a month on the DMP which they accepted.

Then, because CCCS had over-estimated how much my monthly payments were to 3 creditors, they had to re-jig the offers. Most went up, but Lloyds TSB CC went down to £41, which was about half of what I was paying them originally.

The letter from them today says that they are now going to offer me a refinance offer based on the £41 per month?! What's that all about? I don't want any more finance which is why I'm on a DMP now!!

I'm off to phone CCCS - -they'll probably just say don't worry, just keep on paying and it will all work out though. Anyone else had anything like this?

Sorry - another long post!! Once I start, I find it hard to stop though!!!

All the best to everyone. :A :A

Barclaycard seem to be having a problem with their systems at the mo. Rainbow so that's prob. why you haven't heard. You are having a bad time just now but keep postimng as it helps to share. Also useful to hear about how various banks are treating people. Sorry can't type more just now. Have dizzy prob.

One useful tip when creditors say they haven't heard is to take a fax no. from them and pass it on to Payplan or CCCS to fax them the details.

Sorry to hear about your FIL Rainbow.

Lloyds are a company very reluctant to accept but they do they are very "free" with there lending which probably is why I owe them so darn much! Stick in there and stick to your guns. Also with them no one person or even office deals with things at one point one account was being dealt with in 3 towns - I used this against them to my advantage and picked which letter I agreed to the most and stuck with that one - well I had it in writing!

    Hi all,

Thanks for your advice re my northern rock problems. I hope that I have managed to get around it by closing down my direct debit and paying by standing order and making them separate payments, so now I can continue paying my mortgage and stop paying the loan fully, without it affecting my mortgage (hopefully). I did try to get advice from CCCs before I did this but no one will answer their phone, and the people that did couldn't help me. I hope this is not how it is going to continue with CCCS because if so it will be very frustrating. Has anybody else not had their phone calls returned when they left voicemails?

Anyway, I have sent off the intital forms to CCCS and will send out the first letters to my creditors on friday with the compensatory payments.

I'm so scared that northern rock will be hassle for us. I did some research on the net and found a couple of people who did a DMP and had loans with northern rock, and they took them straight to court and attached the loans to the house. I really, really hope that doesn't happen!

The problem for us is that the majority of our debt is with northern rock, we have a £16k loan and a £28k loan with them plus our mortgage. Has anyone else had any dealings with northern rock? If so how did it go?

    Hi Kat,

Sorry can't help with Northern Rock or the mortgage - but if you email CCCS they usually reply the next day. That's how I usually contact them and have never had them miss or ignore an email.

When I have rung them, it's been within their hours so haven't had any issue with no-one picking up the phone or requesting call backs.

Maybe try emailing them if you can?

  • Hi All
Newlywed Lets hope you are right about it costing to much for them to come and make a visit, has you say it could be a scare tactic, I hope so.
I am supposed to be taking it easy but all the stress is making me ten times worse.
Rainbow I am so sorry about your loss. Take care.
Dr Jekyll Hope the dizzyness stops for you soon, I know how horrible it is I suffer from vertigo. I would go to the doctors just incase you have a ear infection, hope you get better soon.

Talking to Matt my son, he thinks I should go to Cab and let them take over my debts, so I will go down tomorrow and see what they have to say.
That's all I have done today is cry I didn't have very good news yesterday at the doctors and I am to tired to deal with all of this on top.
Look at me going on again, I am just so glad you are all here for me to vent.
    Love to you all.

Hugs to you (I don't hand them out often - limited edition they are ;) ) the CAB are really lovely - make sure you take everything in the first visit then they can tackle it all in that visit. So you want at least the latest letter with balances and addresses on for all your debts and bank statements etc they can't have too much information. They will take over the whole lot for you not just the troublesome ones.

    Hi Everyone

Nothing much to report. I have received statements this week and most of my creditors have frozen interest and charges so I am :j

Valley's girl Sorry to hear about your health problems. I'm sure the stress you are under can't be helping. As your son has suggested I think it might be a good idea to see CAB - good luck and take care. Can I ask who Mercers are acting for as I have had dealings in the past (acting for Barclaycard) and they have been fine so just wondered if it depends who they are collecting for.

Rainbow Sorry to hear about your FIL. Barclaycard are one of mine and they sent their reply (accepted) directly to CCCS.

IADMM Sorry to hear about mortgage interest. We rent so I'm not too sure about mortgages.

Dr J Sorry to hear you haven't been well. Hope you are on the mend.

Ireneh I would probably ask CCCS if I could start in August but give them a ring and see what they suggest. Capital One and Barclaycard have been great and have both accepted. Don't know about Egg and M&S.

Toasti Sorry to hear you were having a bad day yesterday. Hope you are feeling better today.

    Take care x

  • Thanks Ray I am going to get all of the statements together and take a budget sheet in also. Matt will take me down just hope I am ok to go down there hopefully if I go early I will be first in.
Dreamer Mercers are collecting for Barclaycard and Littlewoods cc. I suppose they want their money and they won't accept my payments.
I am going to try and not worry so much, ndl told me to get a letter off my doctor, confirming how ill I am, the trouble is I wouldn't want to tell my doctor I would be to embarassed and it would cost me for a letter which I can't afford. I don't think it would make a difference they have just ignored my letters all along. I am so pleased that your creditors have frozen interest well done.:j
    Love to you all.
