Or... if you can pay the minimum payment on the debt you owe to the bank your wages go in, then you should be ok to delay it for a little longer as they aren't likely to take money from you if you are paying say the minimum on your credit card balance.
If you speak to CCCS, they will be able to give you some advice on this as you are worried. I asked them not to contact my main bank until I was sure my wages had been moved to the new account. They said they have to hold off contacting all of them in that case but can do it for a few days without much trouble.
Hope that helps.
Once your DMP is set up, things will feel much better. I am with CCCS and made my second payment and all the chasing calls and letters have stopped. Interest has been stopped on one account, reduced to a third on another account and the third isn't answering my letters so who knowsIt will get better.

Do you think its a good idea to enquire about interest only for a while? I am already on a payment break fr 3 months maximum I could have applied for and am due to start paying from end of next month I don't know what to do, the house id up for sale plently of viewers alot of interest but they all still need to sell too. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Toastie hope you are feeling better today
hugs to all0 -
If the house is up for sale then they could go interest only if you chat to them. We had this with my MIL they know they are getting the money eventually but I think they used to keep in contact every couple of months see how the sale was going.0

hi all,
welcome new posters and hi to usual suspects.
DH got the argos cc so will bal trans the argos storecard bal and saves loads of interest.didnt hear "thanks", etc, but whats new!!!
ireneh.....have cap1 debts, been really good.no letters then monthly statements with no interest or charges and bit on top of statement says you are on a dmp or something similar and they have been really great from early in dmp.m+s said they wouldnt accept my offer but cccs kept paying and now statements come with no interest charges, etc so long may that continue!!
i had barclaycard on a dmp for years and always found them very good also. only ones had trouble with were mint cc.loads of charges and issue default asap and prob will go to a dca.cant rem your other creditors, but try not to worry.main thing, if you have any debts with present bank then would open a new a/c elsewhere to make sure they dont take your wages, etc and cancal all the dds asap.
hope all is well with everyone.

Hi all
Hope everyone is well and not having too many problems with the post or phone calls. Sorry I haven't been around much but my health is causing me a lot of problems.
Hi to all the newbies I haven't had much chance to read all the posts.
Had a letter from Mercers this morning threatening to come and visit me at home, because they haven't been able to contact me by phone, they haven't got my new number, which I don't want to give them.
I am worried about them visiting me at my home because they will pressure me into paying more, which I can't, they haven't told me when they are coming which is worse, I am worried incase I have visitors how embarrassing will that be.
I rang national debt line who have tried to reassure me that they are not balliffs. The other suggestion they made is I could go down the CAb and ask them to take over the debts for me, I am not sure what to do, it is a shame because I have got the 5 creditors to accept payments already.
I will have another one of these letters off Mercers because they are dealing with littlewoods debt also.
Another suggestion made by ndl is to ask Mercers to take me to court. Just wondering what do you think I should do!! I can't think straight at the moment.
Feeling so C**p today have to go out the hospital this afternoon
Sorry about the rant.
Love to you all

Maybe Mercers threats are just to get a phone number off you.
I would write back to them saying you see no need while they need to ring or visit you, you reply to all there letters and are willing to keep communications up with them.
The reason these companies want your phone numbers is they know you buckle under pressure on the phone by writing you are keeping the upper hand, keep sending the payments you have offered and stick to your guns.0 -
Thanks ray
I have written to them recently, and have explained about my circumstances of my health and have enclosed a budget sheet for them. They are pobably peeved because they can't hassle me with phone calls.
I will write the them again.
Hope things are going well for you.
Thanks again.:A

On other threads some have said it's just a scare tactic and they aren't that likely to send someone round because of the amount of money that would actually cost them (to pay someone to visit).
Sorry don't have any experience of Mercers though.
Hope that's the case for you and hope you are feeling better soon.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
