Hi everyone, just come on here to catch up with the post. YM and TEECEE you have really cheered me up with your banta.
teecee I have been to Paphos in cyprus, some years ago now but I loved it. As I have said before my hubby is Egyptian, I went to the pyramids 4yrs ago, it was very emotional for me. I promised my eldest son that I would take him to see the pyramids when he was 10yrs old, and thank god I was able to do it. It was everything I expected it to be and more. I went with my hubby's family, the children rid camels across the desert down to the sphinx. It was beautiful.
YM you do make me laugh :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
ILGD Sorry to hear you are down, you always cheer me up, with your funny posts :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Hi everyone, been reading thread on dmp with interest. Could anyone tell me which is the best company to go with for one, CCCS and payplan come up quite regularly, but is there any difference ? And approx how long from applying does it take to be up and running ? Thanks XXX0

HI Mollybilly - Mine took less than a month to set up but some creditors still don't accept it now! I am with CCCS and haven't had a problem contacting them, although I know some have had problems with Payplan.
Welcome to the thread!

Hi mollybilly.
CCCS and Payplan are both non-fee charging companies, which is why they are recommended.
The only difference I found was that Payplan want you to ring them and go through all the debt details on the phone whereas with CCCS you can either ring or fill in the information on the website. Personally I didn't want to go through it all over the phone so went with CCCS.
They have been brilliant. Once you fill in your financial details, set up a new bank account with a bank you don't owe any money to and send your statements and agreement forms to CCCS you can then start at the beginning of the following month (they send you payment details). So it can be up and running within about a month - not that all the creditors will agree to it that quickly though
Hope that helpsworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Thanx you two, think its gonna be CCCs then. Its amazing how much better i feel with an solution in sight, perhaps i can start sleeping all night now!!! Im gonna get all my statements etc together and work out my budget, then its all systems go, i hope. Wish me luck!!!!!0

Its me again, just a quick question. I have loan with provident, anyone had success with the dmp with them?0
-
Yes I do know how you feel. As soon as I made my first payment to CCCS the weight that lifted from me was huge. Although I do still worry a little about not having any credit to fall back on if anything goes wrong - at the moment i just use my clothing budget and try and cut food back to cover things (huge bus fares while we had no car, for instance)
Having money left to cover things at the end of the month is strange, as is having a bank account with a positive balance and no overdraft
I wish I had done it sooner.
Edit: sorry no experience of provident.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi, well, its about 2 weeks since I first contacted CCCS, sent them all my statements and about 10 days since I sent of a letter to all my 11 creditors to tell them I am seeking advice and going on a DMP Plan. So far Cahoot have sent me a letter acknowledging this and that they have frozen interest and charges and will give it a month before they contact me again to give CCCS chance to make an offer, Cahoot was one of my wonderful creditors that started my interest off at 8.9% for 9,000 and then moved it to 14.9% and then last month increased it again to 19.9% all within 6 months, oh yes and as it was flexible loan they moved the min payment from 2% to 2.5% so along with all my other family problems this was another nail in the coffin along with Virgin CC who after 2 years moved my interest from 15.9% to 27.9%, then they wonder why some people run into trouble, maybe they done me a favour as now im actaully looking like tackling my debts and hope everyone paid off in 6 years. Where as in 6 years I bet id still be paying these guys minimim payments and a sh it load of interest !!
Oh I phoned capital one as I noticed my account had been suspended on the internet, so they told me that they have also frozen interest and charges and waiting to hear from CCCS so all in all things do appear to be moving in the right direction, I will just be glad when I have made my first payment on the 1st July as then at least I know my creditors will be getting something and it will be the start of reducing my debt at the ripe old age of 34, since I was 17 Ive never been out of debt, time for me to grow upWould be very nice if I could be debt free by 40 and then stay that way !!!
Anyway good moring to all and hope your day goes well and that the posty brings good news, I have that to look forward to when I get back in tonight from work
One of my creditors is Vanquis which I am a but worried about, has anyone had dealing with them on DMP? My interest was nearly 60% !!!!Dmp Mutual Support thread member No 820 -
Morning all.
xgingerx. Well done on cahoot and capitol one stopping intest. That is a step in the right direction. Sorry have had no dealing with Vanquis.
mollybilly. Welcome and well done on getting your debt sorted. CCCS are very good i hear. I am with Payplan and for me they have been first class. As long as you choose one of the free services and do not go to a fee paying company you are doing the right thing..
No news for me only the dullards at Southern water. Have been trying to set up a DD since march and it is all set up after speaking to someone the other day. I then get a letter saying because my DD has been cancelled they want the full amount. Anyway another phone call today and after i explained that THEY cancelled the DD and there is one in place they have got the message i hope. Will find out on the 1st as this is when the DD is due. Little tip time. Always keep your correspondence and take the name of the person you are talking to. Take note of the date and time and this will stand you in good stead.
Bye for now
