GE money rang me continually when I missed first payment - they kept asking for payment and I kept saying that I'm starting a DMP with CCCS and giving my reference number. They acknowledged each time they had the details on the system and still kept ringing!!

Then finally I got someone who said that the system should have been flagged to not ring me for XX number of days to give time for CCCS to get in touch - and so flagged it for me - apparently the previously umpteen people should have done that already

They stopped calling when CCCS sent them the proposal and wrote a couple of time instead to refuse the DMP and then a week later to accept the DMP

So whatever happens, stick with it - I don't think they really know quite what the other departments are doing ;)

What's laughable is that I owe £14 to GE Money in missed payments, the lowest by far, and yet they've been ringing me two or three times a day for weeks, MUCH worse than the rest!!! What made me giggle as well is at the bottom of their letters asking for payment, they say that they work with CCCS, and take their advice very seriously!!

I suppose they have to get money someway. My last payment to Payplan was 21st and is pending with creditors today.

We pick the day we pay.

They were certainly the most annoying at the beginning. But after they accepted (after they got the 2nd payment I think) I didn't hear a peek from them until they assigned the debt to a DCA - who sent a statement saying carry on paying what you have been ;)

So don't panic - they are likely to shut up after they start to get the money ;)

Most annoying now for me is the catalogue - seem to have lost payments that CCCS have been making and although I owe them... let's see £20 (but they think it's £49) out of the total £30+k I owe... refuse to speak to me about it to "save me stress" Still waiting to hear back from my complaint ;)

Will be writing another moany letter soon and asking for a CCA thingy I think :p. I owe them the money and will pay it but if they've lost payments then there's no way I'm paying twice!!! Even if it is the smallest debt ;)

  • Hi

We have only just started our DMP Payments (last month) with CCCS. My car Insurance is up for renewal this week and looking on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I could save £20 pm by switching, but what I want to know is.... will it be likely that I could get turned down for monthly payments (which is in all honesty credit) because of the defaults which will show up on my credit report due to the DMP.

Sorry if this is long winded, but not sure whether i should try to switch or just stay with my current provider who want £50pm, cos I had an accident 3 months ago!!

    Hoping for some help

    Bonnie
