    Hi there
Just want to say hello and that I have stepped the first hurdle in my quest to be debt free!
I took the plunge and rang CCCS and they rang me back this morning, and me and Hubby are going for a DMP.
The advisor was on the phone an hr and a half! I have over 35 K in u/s debts by the way.
Just have to sort out a new bank acct now. Just wondered whether it was best for me and hubby to get a seperate acct each or just one joint one for now( in order to work our finances better), what did you all do??
We are so useless at budgeting that this is going to be fresh start for us, paying for things cash only!
Anyway I will have a go online this evening looking for a bank acct notlinked to any of our creditors.
I am so glad I made that call!

Currently we have sep accounts with different banks I am with natwest he is with nationwide, his wages go into my account with natwest as I control everything I hate it I wish somebody did it all for me, but needs must and at least this way I KNOW things have been paid. Our situation is only like this as I had had natwets for ys and we were going to use that account but he has a mint card and I did not want mint taking money out and as natwets was already set up it made more sense to keep natwest and its was my account b4 I met dh anyway!
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!
  • Hello to one and all,

This month I moved my DMP from a fee charging company to the CCCS :j. Now, I'm waiting to see what my creditors have to say about it.

  • All I want is a good night's sleep,
Safe and calm, no more need to weep,
No debt, no credit, finished my DMP,
    Oh wouldn't it be luverly!

    The DMPers anthem I think!

I had my first NSD yesterday, most proud! Still waiting on CCCS for my welcome pack, but I only sent the agreement back to them on Friday. I'm just getting a bit jittery because I want my DMP to start NOW, NOW, NOW!!!!

    Hi Blue Panter and compulsive!

Starting a DMP is better than not starting lol - have some patience :p

Its a good feeling though sorting problems rather than letting them grow!

Compulsive - I think it only took about a week to get the pack through so there's still time :D (And even though they say they need payment by the 1st, for the initial payment they will accept it a little later - think I paid my first payment on 6th month).

You're right, it is a good feeling, unfortunately though patience is not one of my virtues! (I'm still trying to discover what my virtues are!!!!:rolleyes2 )
Potentially some nice news, I think that the phonecalls from one of my creditors has stopped now.
I had a missed call yesterday from another creditor yesterday who I haven't heard from in a long time, I can only assume that they're received the Notification of DMP.
Just to go off tangent slighlty; Does anyone know how well 2nd hand toddlers clothes sell on EBay? Cleared out my daughter's wardrobe at the weekend and have a pile I could do with shifting, and, seeing as it's a cheap listing day on Thursday . . .

    Keep :) ing!!!!!

Sell them in small bundles if you can with the description of bundle somewhere in the title and they go pretty well!
  • Have posted this on the DFW main threads but was advised to post it here. Well here goes......

Received a letter from Northern Rock to say that as I am in breach of T & C's they are unable to accept my offer of a reduced payment. However they had originally accepted the reduced payment until it came up for review. I have been paying them via Payplan since 2005 and its only now that they are refusing the reduced payment. They also stated in the letter that if I did not make the full monthly repayment they would send the account to litigation (Hey ho, like its gonna make my credit history any worse!)
Should I just ring them and tell them to send it to litigation as they wont be getting the full monthly payment or should I request the CCA (just to stick a spanner in the works). Am pretty sure they would have it but not 100%.
They have driven me mad with phonecalls (7 days a week!) since it came up for review and I doubt that they will stop now.
    Thanks for reading.
    Any ideas?

Hi catseyes, not really sure what to suggest but Mint loans accepted my reduced payments on the DMP but only for 6 months. Then they rang me to ask if I can increase, when I said no they asked when I would be able to

Then they sent me a default notice saying I'd not complied with the terms. So that's another default on the list then - not too bothered. Have heard nothing at all since - but Mint credit card was the same right at the beginning the defaulted me but haven't yet taken any further action - not even passed it to a debt collection agency.
