I just have to wait for PP to remove them. I have evidence that I have been paying and how much.

All silent on the DMP front here, Halifax are still asking for double the payment on the statement but we just keep paying, no fuss yet. They are ones I'm a bit wary of as so many people say they get ratty after 12 months.

I'm the same with HFC interest was 5p more than I was paying will go up once I've sorted out FN.

Should I write to FN telling them how much I've paid asking where my money has gone etc?

    my reply from payplan:

    Thank you for your email.
As the balance they are quoting is higher than 40%, as you requested my colleague it has been amended on system, please bear in mind that the offers to the other creditors will change in proportion to this.
We don’t usually amend the balances if the difference is lower than that, or if it’s not the original balance, if it is due to interest and charges the best will be to leave it as it is because by the end of the plan we will be contacting all of your creditors to confirm the outstanding balances at their end, and if there is still remaining due to precisely interest and charges we’ll try to get them to write off that part, but we’ll have to take it from there as there are no guarantees.

Regarding the account being passed over, I have tried to contact them over the phone but wasn’t able to get through to the correct department, I have contacted Fleetwood according to the last letter we have received from you but they belong to Viking, so they are just a financial wing of GE Capital and the payments are not sent to them directly.

The creditor has to notify the client that the account has been passed over and the agency that takes over will also contact the client, have you received any correspondence from any other collection agency regarding this account.

You have sent an email to my colleague advising that they haven’t contacted you and you wish to remove the account from the plan? If the creditor doesn’t contact you in any way for six years, you are not liable for the account anymore. But again, this is after 6 years and you will have to write a letter quoting the limitation act. You can get more information for this on the National debt line website.
I will have to ask for you help on this one, if you can call First National and confirm with them who is actually dealing with the account, and confirm the sort code and account number to where the payments should be sent.
It may happen that they are not contacting you because they are receiving the payments. Let me know how you wish to proceed.

So I had heard (before Aug 2006) it had gone to Fleetwood with is part of GE Money. So is FN though, so not DCA?

I sent a letter to them in Dec 07 telling them of my address, surely if they were wanting money they would have contacted me or payplan.

I have asked them to remove the FN. If I do hear from them I will go from there.

So I could be one creditor down :) Still waiting to hear from Lowell. Think I will contact TSB and find out the balance of my OD, I still have the account info somewhere.

I am a bit confused, payplan in the last part asked for your help, they asked you to contact First National to get details of who to pay - and yet you are saying one creditor down - are you going against payplans advice and ignoring First National now?

all I'm saying is they haven't been getting my money & haven't contacted me that's what I don't get.
If Payplan can't get through to them how can I.
I will try til the end of next week if I can't then I stop paying.

FN are messing up my payments to my other creditors. As my balance to them has gone up my payments to others have gone down.

Well you could write to them, that way if it goes bottoms up you will have proof you tried to contact them, otherwise they could take it you were purposefully avoiding them!

So not phone them? How long do I wait after I've sent the letter, plus should it be recorded delivery?
  • Hi Debrag, I send everything recorded delivery. Even simple replies etc. Personally I sleep easier as I know no one can say I hadn't responded. Perhaps thats overkill..not sure.
