    Well I have e mailed CCCS to get them to call me, so will see. I am sure they are very busy, so will have to be patient. Am thinking of cancelling my DD for my 2 loans and 1 credit card as I know I will end up paying OD charges etc from my bank.
    Hopefully by the time they wite to me I would have heard from CCCS. Is this a bad/good idea.
    Li

    I asked CCCS this and they said that if you cant afford to live then cancel the DD. BUT be award that it can take a few days to cancel dd, I had this very problem and ended up going over OD as the dd went out anyway taking with it my carers allowance and xmas bonus!
    Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!

    Hi there
    I have so many questions running round my head, and have not yet got the courage to pick up the phone and ring payplan or cccs. I am in debt to total of £28.5.( I think there closed over Xmas anyway)
    Not sure whether to go for DMP or IVA, as dont want creditors to take me to court or slap a charging order on my house. We havent any equity anyway.
    What made you go for DMP rather than IVA and do you actually get to live ok? Can you have Internet, sky( basic package) etc, as I dont ever go out!
    Did you cancel or your direct debits etc to your creditors when the DMP was being set up , and did you send any token payments?
    Sorry for all the questions, I just need to know that I make the right decision. Any advice would be great!

    Below is what creditors look for:
    Item name Amount

    Mortgage = Variable
    Rent = Variable

    Second charge on property = Variable

    Payment to arrears on second charge = Variable

    Private pension = Limited

    Building and contents insurance = Variable

    Life Insurance and endowment policies = Variable

    Electricity, gas, oil, and solid fuels = Maximum of £40

    Telephone (including mobiles) = Maximum of £40

    Vehicle tax and MOT = £18

    Vehicle maintenance = Maximum of £30

    Vehicle insurance = Variable

    Petrol = Must be justified

    Public transport, trains and school buses etc = Must be justified

    Vehicle breakdown cover: eg AA, RAC = Maximum £8

    Court Fines: eg speeding etc = Variable

    Lottery tickets = Not allowed

    Pets = Maximum £25

    Household insurance plans: eg gas fire, boilers etc = Not allowed

    Council Tax = Variable

    Water Rates = Variable

    Maintenance/CSA payments = Variable

    Housekeeping = £180 £320 for a couple
    Hairdressing = £8 per person

    Medical, dental, spectacles etc = Maximum £15 if more must be justified

    Clothes and shoes = £20 per person

    Newspapers and magazines = Not allowed

    House maintenance = Not allowed

    School, college and university fees = Must be justified

    Regular subs: eg Union fees = Variable

    Laundry expenses = Must be justified

    HP/Rental: eg car, washing machine = Variable, must be justified

    Social life = Not allowed

    Smoking = Not allowed

    Hobbies, clubs and societies = Not allowed

    Children's pocket money = Not allowed

    TV Licence = £10.08

    Satellite TV = Not allowed

    Child care = Variable

    Nappies and baby milk =Maximum £25

    School meals = Included in housekeeping
    Other expenditure = Variable
    So if there are things on there that are not allowed & things on there that are but you don't use then just spread the cost onto them, thats what I did. I have dental, clothing, hair budgeted when I don't use them. Payplan suggested that to me which I thought was good otherwise we wouldn't have a life at all - not that I do lol
    I'm going to rework my budget once I actually know my total debt but making sure I paying the same if not a little bit more each month.
    Me wonders why creditors are okay with peoples budgets without needing evidence lol

    Pets,pocket money and £20 a month for Smoking is allowed too on my plan.
    I too have a hairdressing and clothes allowance on my plan and dont use it (not to the value im allowed) same goes for the shopping i dont spend no where near what im allowed to giving me extra cash for things i need it for.

    I actually added a second car whilst on the plan, dh got a new job further away so bought a cheap (£300) run around, when i phoned to ask about allowances for extra tax, insurance,petrol ect, i was told that was fine as dh needed it for work and i needed the 1st car for school and shopping runs.
    Creditors havent questioned the fact that we had 2 car and agreed again to that years payments, dh has swapped jobs again since and we have sold the second car as we no longer required it...but with my annual review coming up im not sure wether to tell them we have got rid of it.??

    But im assested at only having £187 a month spare for creditors yet i set the amount at £387 a month and we manage fine on this, so im paying £200 over what they want and still living a comfortable life, weve even aforded to have new stairs carpet and a patio built last summer something we wouldnt have been able to do before the Dmp.

    Morning all

    Hope you are all well after the festivities. Today is the day that we all get back to normal. I did work xmas day and new year so i have not had a break but at least everything is now open as normal.
    Got paid nice and early (Dec 21) however it make's January a very long month. Put into the mix car tax (£99) and MOT tomorrow:eek: (£???) and it is a painfull month for me. I never did manage to keep seperate accounts for xmas,car tax etc but am going to start this month. New year new start :T

    Wish me luck for the MOT tomorrow. Fingers crossed it wont be too pricey. Mind you it is a Volvo estate and parts for that are not cheap.

    Take care and happy DMP'ing

    Evening ym, how's you?

    louloujs - A DMP definitely shows on your credit file as you being on an agreement with each lender, some might even default you.

    Thanks for this, much as i figured which means a DMP might not help me and is a killer.

    But why do Payplan etc say that a DMP doesn't show on your file? That was the main draw for me but clearly the card companies etc can virtually do what they like with your file once you start paying late.

    Some of mine say ‘default’ some say ‘special instruction arrangement: agreement’ funny that one of those is TSB and I’m sure I’m being charged still (though I've gone from [3] to [0] for the last 4 months) and they didn’t start this till 09/07! One creditor started 12/07, one 09/06 and I started the plan 03/06!
    All my special Instruction creditors have given me [0] status but Capital one I'm [6]

    strange... I wonder how lenders view 'special instruction arrangement'? Must be good to see all those zeros.

    I just have to work out what's more important - doing the DMP and getting onto an even keel with my debts and risk getting some more damaging stuff on my credit file. Problem is husband is in finance (ironic!) and my file is going to be damaging to him if i'm not careful. Vicious circle.
