Haven't heard from smile for a while and its been ages since I spoke to joek but i hope they are well and just dealing with things in their own way.

I am going to try to make a concerted effort to post regularly in 2008, it just gets to the point sometimes when you have to try not to let your debt be your every waking thought,

but I really miss you guys so I will try to do better. Anyhoo best get ready as I am going out for a family meal in about half an hour and am sitting here in my pj's.

Hi there
I have so many questions running round my head, and have not yet got the courage to pick up the phone and ring payplan or cccs. I am in debt to total of £28.5.( I think there closed over Xmas anyway)
Not sure whether to go for DMP or IVA, as dont want creditors to take me to court or slap a charging order on my house. We havent any equity anyway.
What made you go for DMP rather than IVA and do you actually get to live ok? Can you have Internet, sky( basic package) etc, as I dont ever go out!
Did you cancel or your direct debits etc to your creditors when the DMP was being set up , and did you send any token payments?
Sorry for all the questions, I just need to know that I make the right decision. Any advice would be great!

Hi Limana

I had all the questions that you are asking as well when I first came on here. I cannot answer all of your questions but I am on a DMP with Payplan and I still have a life. I still have Sky and internet and live well and better than I did before the DMP kicked in.
Wait until after the holidays and ring CCCS/Payplan and make an appointment. It will be the best thing you will do for the new year and beyond.

Happy new year to you all. What a beautiful day outside, but we are just chilling with the box on and a movie!

THank you for your advice about Payplan. THey have changed my case officer 7 times in 2007 and I just dont have the same personal contact I did when I was starting out. I am left to sort things out on my own so much more.

I too went through Christmas on cash alone and got a lovely little bonus from my boss which I am not banking until I really need to. January is such a long month and you never know when you might need it!

Well I have e mailed CCCS to get them to call me, so will see. I am sure they are very busy, so will have to be patient. Am thinking of cancelling my DD for my 2 loans and 1 credit card as I know I will end up paying OD charges etc from my bank.
Hopefully by the time they wite to me I would have heard from CCCS. Is this a bad/good idea.
