hi all
just had to come and rant ive just had a phonecall from the rudest woman ever from yorkshire bank telling me i have to increase my payment to them :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: (not asking telling) i dont think so ive just emailed cccs see what they say. thought it was too quiet:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl::grouphug: Member #5 of the DMP Mutual Support Club :grouphug:0 -
Morning.
Talking of milestones i mentioned in an earlier post that i had gone below the £28,000 mark. It is only a small step but it is nice to see it decrease.
I must admit we have not had bad weather today but as i spent most of it in bed (nights) it was a bit wasted. Hopefully we will have nice weather when we go camping in about 3 weeks.
Heard from Payplan and all of my creditors have accepted my offers :j so that was a bit of good news. Also figured out that my gas cooker has a timer facility. Used it this morning before i went to bed and awoke to perfect baked potato so that will be a usefull tool for the future.
At work at the moment and very quite so will spend the night doing an appraisel and catching up on the site and ( if the works puter allows )may do a few searches etc and see if i can earn some piggy points.
huntress. Sorry to hear about Yorkshire bank. Where do they employ these people from. Done the right thing though and hopefully CCCS will sort it for you.
Hope you all slept well and are refreshed for the day ahead.

hi all
Thanks for replies - i have not had any calls today only post was a letter from capital one asking if i want to balance transfer at lower rate!!! (yeah right) after the phone call they made yesterday to work chasing payment i dont think so do you?
Anyway i feel a bit brighter, its just that we do owe such a lot and all the whilst the balances are just going up with all the interest and late payment fees? On the dmp statement the balance does go down, however does everyone update their balances from creditor statements at all on the cccs website as with none of them accepting it at the moment it just gets higher. (still early days only made 2 payments to cccs)
Anyway i know what you mean about spending on clothes i really needed some clothes the other day and i waited until pay day and then i bought some trousers a cardigan and 3 vest tops and it all came to £18.00 (from matalan) and shoes from george at asda 1/2 price to £7.50. We have not a very high budget for clothing so we have been taking it in turns for clothes, obviously children come first.
thanks for support
bye for now0 -
bow.
To start with my amount owed did go up but since they have agreed to stop interest I did start to see a reduction. I have only made 3 payments so far and i suppose it depends who you are dealing with and how long before they see sense and realise you are trying to pay off your debt and what they are doing is not helping at all. Hope you start to see progress soon.

Mine went up for the first two months - but now three out of four of them are going down. The one still charging interest seems to have now stopped the late payment and over limit charges so that is something I suppose
Even if they agree the DMP, they won't stop interest until a couple of weeks after they get the first payment. I think it's to check that you are actually going to pay what you say. Also on the DMP the creditors don't get their dosh until 25th of the month, which throws things out a bit.
So you do have to be a little patient. But I know that without the DMP I wouldn't have had one stop interest completely and one reduce it to less than a third of what it was - so longer term you get the benefit even with the short term increaseworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Just caught up with all the posts. Don't post so much now as things seem to have stabilised for us. No ph. calls. Statements and mail are mostly ok or computer generated and can be ignored.
Has been very good to read all the news and to hear that most of you are making good progress. I shan't post regularly but I do want to say I will be reading regularly. I have appreciated more than you will know the support, advice, info. and hugs from many of you which have kept me sane and in some sort of control of my life.
We owe just under 270,000 pounds. that doesn't include our mortgage which I also have to clear in total. The mortgage is about half the debt which is all credit cards by the way. I do have a lot of shares and am desperately working on trying to clear the debt by growing my investments. Two of my shares were suspended which largely created the crisis when I couldn't pay the monthly minimums. The shares have a long way to go before their value is more than the debt but if the suspended shares can return my money in one way or another it will help dramatically.
I got into investing in order to try to clear our debts and have invested credit card money which is not a good idea unless you are very desperate as I was. I could see no other way to clear the debt.
I felt it was time to let you know as you are very special people on here. I only wish I had known about Payplan much earlier and I know many on here will echo that. I hope to clear some of our debt by making interim payments as well as clearing some or all of our mortgage as shares come into profit. I have had good news today on one and another looks like it could go into serious profit by Aug. or Sept. so there is hope for me yet.
Sorry this is so long when many have there own troubles. It needed to be said though.0 -

I agree completely. Without this thread I would still be taking cash out of credit card account to pay the minimum payment on another and worrying how to buy food and petrol etc.
Everyone here gave me the help I needed and answered the questions I needed before going to CCCS. Wish I'd been here sooner and found CCCS sooner
