you think when you see it on tv its bad but it really hits home when you know the places they show cos they are only up the road and we drove over the meadowhall bit of motorway on sun and they shut it mon!!!!felt so bad for the peeps in catcliffe and the 2 other villages cos if that resoivour(sp?) had burst it would have been a nightmare. i was worried wher all the water they pumped out was going so i think the villages got it anyway but not as much.just cleared there and then doncaster copped for it which is 7 miles from me and i think they are still under water.
so please include house insurance in your dmps cos they are building so many houses on the flood plains itll be like bl**dy venice soon!!!
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)

I remember a few years ago dating my now hubby and chatting to him on MSN he was in MIddlesbrough and I said "s*** the earth moved I think it was an earthquake" I shall leave it to your immaginations what he made of that taking the pee - next morning he watched the news and I got an apology text the earth had moved for me!

    Morning all.
Letter from GE Money said interest now stopped. But.... confirms balance still the same so she didn't take off the interest she said she would

Guess that's more phone calls to make then
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
  • Hi all

    Hope everyone is ok.
Back from fun week in hot & sunny France. Guess weather been different here. Bloody freezing at airport last night.

Came back to a pile of nice letters (11) from Barclays as they have not accepted my offer on loan and current account overdraft.
Fingers crossed on my other 2 creditors - Argos Loan and Sky Card.

I have had a default issued on the loan as the offer was turned down demanding full replayment. Was expecting default as had missed a few payments.
A letter about the loan states that the offer is not acceptable to them.
It says in due course the account will be closed and the debt transferred to the Bank's recoverys department who will contact me to discuss the offer.
Until such time I should pay the amount I have offered etc.

On current account, I have had a termintion notice.
I have also had a letter saying my current account arrangement has been cancelled and the account closed. The letter says my offer would not allow the debt to be repaid within an acceptable period of time.
An agent appointed by the bank will contact me directly to discuss my offer and repyament of overdraft debt.

Bit annoyed and worried by this.
Barcays had been helpful..although did have a wierd letter and call from them just before flew off accusing me of not making token payments and not letting them know what I am doing...when I had been regularly. Get impression that different people / departments at these places don't talk to each other!

Am guessing that these non acceptances are quite common.
I will start making my DMP payments this month when get paid on the 6th.
Does anyone have any info / advice on what happens now?

Think I read something on here that creditors can sell the debt to an agency and my DMP payment will go to them?

    Thanks as ever.

Hi Pompey, I know what you mean by the number of letters, Ive never been so popular. I get in from work with a stack of letters (Everyday!) I feel like its my birthday everyday as all the letters I have no idea whats in them (well sort of no idea  and usually full off nasty surprises lol

But think most are computer generated so im trying not to take them all to heart :)

ps; had a card with Vanquis at 60 something percent on 1000, in one month my balance has gone from 1012 to 1124 , thats 11% additional debt, going to call CCCS as this cant be right ?

    Afternoon all.

newlywed. Sorry to hear of your problem with GE. Hope you get it sorted.

xgingerx. Had no experience with Vanquis so cannot advise i'm afraid. Let us know how it goes. Good luck.

pompey. Glad you had a good holiday and welcome back to sunny blighty :rotfl: . It is nice to get your first payment underway. With me i can track how much i have paid with Payplan and how much approx is left to pay off. Apart from that it is nice to see your payment reach them and then you sit back, put your feet up and relax:rotfl: . Most of the hard work is done. It is a major step admitting we have a problem and an even bigger one dealing with it. There will be twists and turns and ,yes, they can sell to a DCA but i have heard these are easier to deal with. Good luck and go and strut your stuff up the high street with your tan, as you can be sure, no one who has been in the UK recently will have one :rotfl:

Nothing to report from me today. Toothache has even gone so going to cook a lovely Spanish omellette tonight with a fresh salad. Back to work tomorrow for 6 days and the smoking ban is in place so should be interesting.

    Enjoy your day

sorry to hear so many are having problems! Hope things are sorted for you soon. In this camp HSBC are being barstewards again, having repaid my charges which cleared the overdraft they have now paid out the dd for the personal loan, which takes me into o/d again and if they don't bounce it, it will mean we're back to square one because they won't default it until reduced payments have been made for 3 months. Plus they'll be charging me again, lord they make me sick!! Anyway on a positive note I'm still off the fags.
    Love and hugs to all
