  • Hi,
I could really do with some advice, over 2 and half years ago I started the process of trying to re-claim bank charges from Lloyds. At the time I was unaware of the template letters available on the site so I used a company called BCRUK who claim charges back on your behalf (charging 25% of the reclaimed amount if your case is successful). I am now considering trying to reclaim them myself (saving 25%) but I’m not sure how this will effect my original claim. Any suggestions? Any idea’s/tips would be appreciated!
    Thanks very much

Yes, you need to make sure that the company you are using will not charge you to get out of your agreement with them to begin with. Otherwise if you win they will expect to receive their cut.

  • Hi everyone,

Hopeing you can offer some advice!

I send off my letter to barclays claiming £300 back and have just had their response.

They say they have 'registered and stored your complaint regarding bank charges - once the legal proceedings between OFT and the bank finish, we will resolve your complaint as soon as possible"

    Bla Bla Bla....

What do I do now? Do I send off the 2nd template letter asking that they reconsider as I am in financial hardhsip?

    Thanks, Emma :)

Are you in financial hardship and why do you think that you are?

Emma obviously thinks she is in hardship, and if she is, then it is her business not yours (or ours)!

one of the obvious things when claiming financial hardship is £500.00 over 12 months and as you can see from the figures, she has stated £300.00 in charges. That is why I am asking about financial hardship. From the post, the answer is no.
So the next question is priority debt arrears and again the post doesn't indicate that either so the question remains, are they in financial hardship cos they may have their hopes unexpectedly raised when the bank will not look further at their claim for hardship
