Hi. Posted last week about whether to send th next letter or not and have done. Heard nothing back since sent it last Monday saying seven days. What should I do now? Start court proceedings or go to FOS?
    Cheers, Drew
Meant to make it clearer in which would be best avenue to go down right now? Court or FOS?

    Bank: Natwest (husbands account)
    Amount Reclaimed: £6035 (including interest)
Amount they paid: £4835 (bank charges without interest)
The story: sent letter off to Natwest claiming financial hardship, they sent back income/expenditure forms, they then wrote asking for proof of some of the bills etc. wrote to us today offering £4835!!!!!:money: :money:
Money should be in husbands account within 21 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi

Can you let me know how long it was after you sent your initial income/expenfiture form that they wrote to you again? What sort of bills did you have to prove to them you had and how long after sending that to them did you finally get a letter confirming the refund?

    well done by the way!!

    Thanks

I got an offer from NatWest today and will accept it, will post the details as soon as the money is in my bank. It was a hardship claim and a weight has lifted from my shoulders... I feel like I'm crawling out from under a rock, into the light!

    Congratulations!!

Can you let me know how long you had to wait from sending in your income/expenditure form to getting your offer from Natwest?

    Thanks

Hello everyone, I'm just reclaiming (on behalf of my partner) his over-charged charges from NatWest. There is a space on the Hardship form for "partner". I'm not married to him yet....Do I legally have to fill in my earnings? I'm living with him (and his parents) I have a job etc but enough debt of my OWN to pay off.
Need to sort this out before total financial merger (marriage)... 17 weeks and counting.
Have filled in form partially. Generally I hate forms so its a big effort.

I sent in the formal application on February 7th. I heard very little for several weeks (just an acknowledgment that they had received the application) and in March I began pestering them with more letters, and finally phone calls. It was the phone calls that seemed to drive things forward, although I do believe a letter from NatWest itself (a different department) demanding full satisfaction of my overdraft helped a lot!
There was one woman in particular who rang me up three times to let me know that it had been approved. There was some kind of misunderstanding within the bank; a week ago they sent me a letter saying the claim had been declined, but when I called to ask what was gong on the nice lade said it wasn't true, it had indeed been approved. The offer arrived yesterday, March 24th. So approximatelty six weeks in all.

  • PLEASE HELP
My partner is trying to claim back over £900 in charges from Natwest.
He sent first letter asking for refund they sent a letter back about test case and asked him to fill in hardship form which he did and sent back over 2 weeks ago now. We have not heard anything back.
He called but they said the test case was in court and we wouldnt get any money untill it was solved in court which could be june july time.
I have no idea what to do now.
Should we send the second letter about not getting a responce?
Please help we really need this money as we are in arrers with electric and council tax and I really don't want to have to borrow money from family.
    Thanks
