• Hi all. I am making a claim against H.S.B.C , but one question. I made a caim against Barclays a couple of years ago (and won). At that time, the site posted addresses of the right department and address of head office for each bank, I cannot find this now? I am trying to trace the correct address to send the HSBC Claim to, as I feel sending it to my own branch would delay the situation! CAN anyone help please!
• i have been trying to claim business account charges from RBS on a second attempt i pointed out to them that that these charges where still claimable , they told me i would recieve a decision within eight weeks twelve weeks later i have recieved a solicitors letter threatning court action , i called them & they claim i have been refused a second time & i must pay them £800 which is 50% of what they owe me , if i had recieved a refusal from RBS in writing i would have immediatly raised an FOS complaint they are now passing my alledged debt to a DCA is it to late to do so any advice .
• Hello everyone,
With the current credit crunch and the banks needing "bailing out" what are the chances of me getting my unfair bank charges back? My case has been on hold since the test case.
• Mine too!

I imagine that even the dimmest judge might decide that having already paid thousands of claimants that its an admission of guilt, so they will spin out the case forever.

Can they even afford to pay us all back now?

• Dont know if im on the right thread but here goes anyway.
Posted martins 1st letter to mbna asking for my statements along with a cheque for £10.00. Recieved a letter today from them saying that "The Relationship they had with my former army regiment ( ie Regimental credit card) has now ended. The decision means they are now no longer able to provide any details on this account." My last payment to them was only 2 yrs ago, but they said they will transfer me to another account ( no thanks).
They also kept the cheque///now what

Let's hammer HBOS!!

We all know about bank charges for not having sufficient funds at the time of a direct debit, standing order or presentation of a cheque.
The bank will charge us to cover their "administration costs".

But what happen when the bank fails to pay an item because its IT system is not working properly?

That is the case of HBOS. Its Faster Payment system is not working correctly and some standing orders and home banking payments are returned or not executed by their IT sofware. The systems seems to me to have trouble with small amounts of transfers and payments.

Recently HBOS failed to pay standing orders set up on my account and so I charged the bank for the nuisance and "administration costs" that they caused to me.
HBOS accepted and payed me back £15 for every unpaid standing order that their systemd failed to pay.

So now I am setting up as many standing orders as I can, for a small amount of money, in anticipations that they might fail to be paid and so I will cotinue charging HBOS.

You must always bear in mind, that if the bank does not abide by the rules that they themselve impose on our account, then we can always sue take the to court through an Small Claim procedure, which can easily be filled on-line at HMCS web site.

Here is the letter I used to claim my "administration costs".

Dear Sir,

On the 05/09/2008 Bank of Scotland failed to make a standing order payment from my account to EDF Gas.

Bank of Scotland IT error has caused me administrative costs.

As result I demand Bank of Scotland to credit £15 into my account to cover my administration costs.
The requested credit of £15 is in line with the fee that Halifax-BoS would apply to my account in the event of a failed payment for insufficient funds.

I believe the demanded amount is as fair and transparent as Halifax-BoS bank charges.

Failure to credit my account for £15 will result in an “Small Claim” procedure being initiated at the Teesside Combined Courts of Her Majesty’s Court Service.

Thank you for your attention and consideration,

Yours faithfully,

• Hi I'm a new member... I have also put in a claim to have my Bank charges returned; this was done over a year ago!
I have read on the forum that I should use a Template to explain to the bank my "Hardship situation" & hopefully speed things up!
Could someone tell me what Template I should use or let me have a link to it?
Many thanks for your help.:santa2:

Gone a bit over my overdraft....
Just got a letter saying they're charging me £35 for an £18 unpaid item!! Can they still do this?? I've not been keeping up with all this lately to be honest. Can't they only charge me what it cost's them? Or is that not the case currently? Bank is Halifax.
