Around four to five years ago we had a bank account and loan with Nat West. When the bank account continually went overdrawn and the loan wasn't getting paid (bad time! ). Nat West combined the loan and overdraft and placed us on a repaymen plan. My question is, can I reclaim for any charges applied to the combined amount, or does this come under a loan agreement?
I would imagine you can claim them all back.
I was on a payment plan with barclays a while ago and had charges during that period. I claimed all the charges and got everyone of them back.
what have you got to lose?...you only have to ask. if you dont ask then you dont get.
Dont be afraid of them. They are just a company like any othe company but they are called a bank; there is no need to be scared of them.
If it was a garage that had ripped you off for some spare parts for your car, i bet you would be straight down there throat asking for the money back. I know i would. whats the difference here?????

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help me. I am at the stage where i've calculated what the bank has charged me and i have written my letters, but i'm unsure where to send them to. Am i correct in my thinking that i should just send them to the same place where i requested my statements?0 -

I never posted ANY of my letters.
I simply took them to my local branch and hand delivered all of them to a cashier. That way you can be sure that they have recieved your letter and you cant be fobbed off by them saying they never recieved them. Why the hell should i pay the postage for them. plus my court bundle was about 300+ pages thick. no way would i post that.
And trust me..when you walk out of that bank you will have the biggest, smuggest grin on your face from ear to ear.:D

Hiya Folks,
I am currently having a good fight with Abbey over my huge charge claim, i wrote a letter last june to reclaim my charges back.I got nothing but fob off letters. Then i decided to go down the Financial difficuties route, Abbey have now sent me a financial expences form to fill in and enclose any information that will back up my claim, ie- Bank statements, debt letters, bills etc. I was very suprised they enclosed a free postage envelope addressed to the complaints department at Abbey.(Thanks Abbey)I am hopeing that now Abbey will understand i am struggling financialy and pay up.Il keep you all informed on what stunt Abbey will pull next,as i know for a fact that under the FSA ruling i fall into the financial difficulties catagory.
Anyone else in the same boat?0 -

Hi all,
Where do I start!! I have been reading all the ongoing cases on this great site and decided to make the first step towards claiming back the £4300 in back dated fees an ex had the pleasure of leaving me with (long story). I tried to call Lloyds and was put on hold for approx 30 minutes to be told i have the wrong debt and I should call collections, another 10 minutes on hold to be told yet again i should call the customer support team, one big circle. I ended up going to my branch to be told i should phone collections again because they dont have any authority to do anything
I was waiting for the outcome of the July but it seems everything will only be looked at again in December, with my current possition i cannot wait until december and bank fees are being added every month ontop of exisiting fees. I finally spoke to collections again who agreed to extend my overdraft to cover anymore fees being added and they will freeze the account until my case is heard, stopping all fees. I dont know if this is a good thing or not or have i just been led down a dark alley by agreeing to this and im a true blonde, not a good combination :-) , they offered me £75 in compensation and i should put £15 each month back into the frozen account to show good faith back to the bank, very strange considering the account will be frozen and how do i get this £75? I fall slap bang in the middle of the hardship ruling and want to be heard by my bank and my case dealt with sooner than later.
Every person I spoke to within Lloyds has never heard of the financial difficulty rules applied to the case or the hardship criteria and i spoke to about 12 people and no one in branch or on the phone.
My question is does anyone know a number i can call to speak to someone who acctually knows what is going on within Lloyds Tsb or even an adress to send my case to.
Thanks for the great posts and success stories, it really motivates me to do this.

I sent my letters to Halifax re bank charges and they have offered £2257 without admission of liability.
Has anyone pushed for more than the first offer with any success?“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -
