  • hi does anyone know the address for natwest to send my claim. Cheers Mike
  • Hi
I was wondering if anyone had any advise. I was overdrawn with HSBC in May, they took £33 on 3 June and another £25 on 4 July. I realised what had happened on 9 June and paid money into the account. However, on 3 August they were going to take a further £50. I rang and complained about not being notified and how I was now in the positive etc. They said they have now reduced the charge to £25 but this will still be coming out of my account on 3 August. I am going to write and ask for all of the money back but in the meantime is there a way to stop this £25 coming out of my account on 3 August? I will then close my account with HSBC, I am with the cooperative now and their service is amazing in comparison!!
I know this isn't the same as the thousands that some people have been hit with but it is still so wrong what they are doing, and any would be advise would be fantastic thanks.
  • Hi

Thanks to some helpful folk on here I am nearing completion of my bank charges reclaim for Lloyds TSB accounts and although I have done most of it some entries still stand out and I am unsure if I can claim for these and hoped someone could claritfy which ones I can and cant claim for below.

    Personal accounts

Account charge (usually £4 wondered if linked to service as appears regularly?)

    Overdraft usage fee
    Overdraft interest

    Unauthorised borrowing fee

    CAIS coll AC

    ATM Owner fee

    Business account

    CHG Refund of Interest

Charges (then it lists certain period dates between)

    Unauthorised borrowing fee

    Solutions Charge

    Bus focus fee

Then its just a case of adding it all up sticking it in the calculator puting the final figure into the letter and off to the post office I go! 1 down another 5 to go! :o

    Many thanks.

i began maternity leave on the 4th may and am in the same position as you, i have been informed "No" because of my OH's wages. Think it is also dependant on current financial circumstances too. i'm sure will be along to help you in the right direction

  • hi

I tried to reclaim £1400 from lloyds in jan 2007, I got a reply back saying that they were not responding to claims pending the court case.
TO be honest I forgot about it until this week.

Being a bit lazy I hadnt checked my bank account for a few months and hadnt opened any letters.... big mistake!
I had gone over my overdraft limit in may, and was incurring £15 per day, same in june (whilst I presumed that id just get charged interest which was £36, if I had gone over) so now 2 months on I have charges for nearly £450!
A while back I could contact my branch, but not now, just some snotty call centre. I have been into my branch today who say they cant refund any of thoses charges.
The lad I saw sympathised but said it was now policy to enforce the charges and no refunds can be given at branch level.
I am going to contact head office again and add these charges to my claim, presuming that they keep a record of my previous claim... does anyone know?

26 years with lloyds who always made adjustments to my account in times of need... you know what I will do when I am straight!

So be careful folks theyre getting tough!

I have sent a number of letters now to halifax to reclaim some charges.
I reclaimed about £300 over a year ago but since then i have been charged for silly amounts on just about everything.
only recently paypal tried to take out two seperate amounts for around £3 each, NINE DAYS after i made the payments via ebay. They then tried to take the payments again just a few days later, and as a result i had £140 of charges. just how the hell can they justify that.??????

I have now sent a letter pleedind financial hardship as i am self employed and not doing so well.I have given them 7 days from wednesday.

If i get charged £35 for a failed item; then how come they dont charge me when i thry to top up my phone using my registerd card and have insufficient funds??????... surely this is the same thing. Yet again its just one computer talking to another computer!!!!!....just where do they draw the line???

    Keep fighting my friend.
The banks are just taking advantage of the stay on the claims and holding on to as much of our money as they can while they can.
keep a record of EVERY charge and keep adding it on. I did this just over 2 years ago just before the stay on claims with barclays. I was claiming for around £3400 with interest and by the time they finaly wrote to me (5days before court date) it was just short of £4000. I called them and the lady just said to adjust it to the correct figure and fax it back. ALL the money was in my account within the hour.:D

I know its not much good to you now but you will get this money back im sure. It took me 7 months from start to finish last time and it was a lot easier then i must admit. but please hold in there and fight for what is yours.

    good luck to you:T

HiI need help please.I had( now closed) a business account with Nat West & earlier this year reclaimed£550, after this repayment they still deduceted excess/unauthorised fees from my business account.I therefore put in another claim for c£300 & last week received a letter advising the claim had been rejected. I replied stating my surprise particularly as the OFT is still to decide whether it thinks bank charges are actually unfair. In reply today I received a letter from Nat West stating "your claim is not sustainable for a number of reasons .For example a charge is notc apable of being a penalty at common law unless it was payable upon a breach of contract. The unarranged borrowing charges which are the subject of your claim were not applied pursuant to any breach by you of any contractual provisions in the terms and conditions governing the operation of the bank account .They were applied in accordance with the terms and conditions dated April 2007and the tariff of charges for services provided by the bank in connection with your current account .These charges are therfore not capable of being penalties and the bank is legally entitled to levy them. The bank does not therefore intend to refund these charges"
