He has received his letter from them (Halifax) already saying they are "not dealing with it at the mo.....due to court...blah blah blah"
Although i havent received a response from natwest at all!!! Shall i proceed with the 2nd letter/stage anyway? Or do i need to wait?

Yeh!!
:T well done on getting your charges back , just a quick question , did you claim financial hardship?0 -
Hi,
I want to try to claim back my bank charges. My bank is HSBC, does anyone know which is the best address to send the reclaim letter to? Should it be your local branch, head office, or is there a department for this sort of thing?
Thanks0 -
Is there any recompense on being charged to send your money via bacs to another bank?0

It seems to me Halifax are starting to pay out on their Hardship Cases
Amount Claimed : £3264 + £150 court fee + £1300 interest
Amount Paid : £3297
Theyve basically paid me back my charges and promised to reevaluate the court fee and interest once the Test case is over!!
After months of waiting i suddenly recieved an offer and will be paid within 14 working days.
Was i wrong in accepting this offer without the interest?0 -
Hiya, do i stand a better chance of claiming under financial hardship, as ive sent old bank statements to abbey and debt letters. What guidelines do the banks use to decide if they should pay you back or not?0

I sent the letter template from this site to Natwest, claiming back £400+ they had charged me since Jan 08. As I am currently self employed, with no work, my sole income has been from benefits since Dec 15th 07. I received the standard reply, with Natwest advising me to "return my credit cards and cheque books from all my accounts, as that would stop further spending and stop my overdraft growing..." - odd, as I don't have a credit card, don't use my cheque book, and don't have an overdraft! The letter also included a Statement of incomings and outgoings they wanted filling in. As the charges are definitely excessive (mainly accrued because the Benefits BACS go in every 4 weeks, and the direct debits go out every calendar month) and they are causing me hardship, what is the next step?0

You could always cancel the direct debits and pay the bills with cash. That simple step will stop a lot of the charges. Open an account elsewhere for your benefits to be paid into and then come to an arrangement with Nat west about the overdraft. The court case could take years, don't count on a payout anytime soon. i think you need to be pro-active here to stop any further charges.0 -
My son sent for his bank statements from NatWest to reclaim 6yrs charges, 44 pages arrived home, the question is when he submits his claim letter does he have to send all of them, or can he just copy out the charges items and send it with the letter??0
