i have only written to capital one from your list. they were extremely quick in sending statements. i posted on a thurs evening and they arrived by special delivery at 8 am on the monday morning. waiting for a reply for repayment might be a completely different matter though from what i've read. if any of them dont send out info within 40 days report them to the information commissioner. there is a form on there website you can print off. http://www.ico.gov.uk/upload/documents/library/data_protection/forms/data_protection_complaints_form.pdf
  • Hoping someone can give me some advice. I have taken A&L to court to reclaim charges totalling aprox £1200. Initially they offered me an out of court settlement of £431, this they claimed was the difference between what I had paid and what I would have paid if the charges were £12 per item, the figure also included court fees. I refused this offer and have proceeded with court action. I have not received a letter from their solicitors stating that they intend to defend the case, what happens now?? am a bit confused!!

Is that a typo, do you mean they are defending? You'll find the A&L thread here....

and you'll find most user in there are at a similar stage and they are a very supportive group.

This whole process against the abbey started last November! I am now in the MCOL system waiting until next Tuesday for the banks 14 days to be up (after allowing the 5days for serving the papers) to acknowledge my claim as yet they haven't and I could win by default? Has this happened to anyone yet? This MCOL is all new to me!

They will more than likely acknowledge so please don't get your hopes up too early.

    Hi there

Can anyone help please, I received a letter from Nationwide stating that they have paid all claimed money into my account, the letter was dated the 19th of July, when the money didn't appear over the next few days I called them and was told that my letter had been sent early and that the money would be paid into my account on the 1st or 2nd of August.

Is there any chance that Nationwide will honour this?

    Any Ideas????

    Thanks

  • Good morning all,

could anyone help? i received the letter from RBS saying they would endeavour to deal with my claim in 6-7 weeks.

i never heard anything and their 7 weeks was up on the fatal 26th july (which i have christened 'brown tuesday')

do you think that claim will be frozen too? or are they breaking any rules not getting in touch with me before the recent claim suspensions?
  • Hi everyone,

My case with Nationwide for £1999 including MCOL fee and interest has gone from MCOL to Northampton court. It was then Passed onto my local court and i have been sent a questionnaire to fill in and send back to the court. This would be fine, except they want an additional £100 fee, which again would be fine, but with all this lastest news about the court hearing and claims being suspended in the time being, i dont know what position this puts me in.

I cant really afford this £100, but at the same time know if i win i'll get it back anyhow, but i have a deadline to get this form in before my claim is scraped anyhow. Should i send it in with the money and await judgement in my favour like i was expecting?

You do need to pay the £100 to keep your case going I'm afraid so if you can get it together send it off for the deadline and then you'll get a hearing date from your local court.
