    Hi Ya

Any ideas about the people who have been promised letter of offer this week whether they are still honouring them, i have a friend on here whose eight weeks is up in a few days and they promised her a couple of days ago that an offer would be sent?

    Thanks

    lou x
If she hasnt yet received an offer then she isnt likely to, all claims that havent been offered even though promised have been put on hold, only those having received an offer in writing will be honoured.

  • Thankgod for that, bet you are so relieved. Up til yesterday we were all waiting up til midnight for our monies to go in from hsbc as this is the time they put charges back in. Now it looks like they are rushing to clear the whole backlog of claims by doing them in the days. Hope there are a few more that are successful to have waited eight weeks plus then to be told NO is just plain torment.

    congrtulations

When I first saw the announcement on Martin's site I paniced and thought this would mean I wasn't going to get anything back, so finding out i'm still getting it was a huge relief.
I hope the same thing, it must be heart breaking for people who have got so close to getting their charges back and now find it's all been put on hold until the test case goes through, I just really hope it works out for them all.

    Thanks again

Received an offer for full settlement last Friday and faxed acceptance on Monday of this week. Got a bit wooried but rang SCAM (LloydsTSB solicitors) today and was told that they will be honouring any offers already accepted. Talk about in the nick of time!!!

Good luck to all those still fighting on.
  • was sent a letter from abbey, after a hugh total over the last 6 years added up to £10,000 ... they said as the charges were standard and nothing they can do, as a good will gesture offered £1,450....HA HA HA.
due to job loss and an unplanned pregnancy!!, had been a rough few years with abbey not helping at all...ANYWAY....definatly want to fight them over this as a few years back they decided to 'HELP' us by extending our overdraft...NOT REALLY GUYS!!! want to know is it too much to go to the courts for (even half of the money would be a bonus!!), and only have a little money for courts....do we have to pay a solicitor?
just want to know is it really worth going to court?? whats the next step?
    sorry for all the questions?
  • can any one help me please...i have got to the court stage with abbey and now i have to put together a court bundle? what do i need in this bundle...please help!!

if the county courts are NOT GOING to deal with this individually will we all get a refund off the courts as i paid out £800 that i cannot afford to wait a year for and i dont think that the courts will deal with us any more as the oft are going to deal with it so give us our money back thanks hope martin can help us  :money:

i paid my courts costs so give me my day !!!!!!
  • Lloyds paid my money into my account today. I sent off 2 letters to Halifax and Natwest Last Friday (recorded) but they aren't for a huge amount so I guess I'll wait and see.

  • Hi, can anyone tell me if i can reclaim bank charges on an account that i closed two years ago and was open for a total of 10 years. i know that all claims have been suspended for the mo but if they are found guilty i would be very happy to reclaim lost money.

    thanks in advance
  • Hello everyone.

I'm gutted, and lost as to where I stand.

My court case was issued last Monday (23rd July)

The court case will (was going to) be served tomorrow (Sat 28th July)

In the mean time, I received a reply from the Halifax today (Fri), offering a goodwill gesture of £651 (half of what I was asking for). I called the bank when I received the letter, but I was told that their system was down, and they could not help me today, but I would have to phone back on Monday.

I dont know what do to, either accept the £651 (although I have asked the courts for the full amount of £1689 including court costs), try and negotiate a better offer from the Halifax on Monday, or to turn it down and wait for the courts process to take its turn (if that option is still open).

It was too late to phone the courts for advice, but I called the FOS, and all he could tell me was that the bank would have to offer the £651, but he could give no advice on the court claim, and he "understands" that the bank now do not have to offer anymore, until big picture is sorted out, which may take manys months, or several years.

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
