    I am looking for a little more advice??

    I recently received my first decline letter after being patient and waiting seven weeks, I had then thought about proceeding to court or FOS but I decided to call HBOS and without saying anything the guy said my case would be re-evaluated immediately and I would hear within two weeks, this would then take it well over the eight weeks limit (as my first claim letter was on 19th April 2007), should I be pushing them for an answer or letting them decide? Has anyone had a similar experience?

    It seems to have been very successful for a lot of users but its up to you if you want to start court action now or wait 2 weeks or perhaps try phoning again using the latest number in the thread below.

    Hi Over they years I have been charged about £600 by cahoot credit card. I have sent a recorded letter to cahoot, and they received it, no reply from cahoot. I have sent about 8 emails, each one received with the automated response we will get back to you or ignored. I sent general query from my email not relating to the charges got response straight away, then when i went back and said how do you reply to a general email but not a charge one. I was told it is now a tier 2 complaint and it has to go to abbey national as they afre the company owner. I did that i emailed abbey zero response from abbey. other than dealing with it after first email 5 emails later no response to anyone.

    What do i do / has anybody actually won against cahoot. i must add the account is closed

    Martin

    Not great news in the Cahoot thread I'm afraid...

    Wonder if anyone can help?

    I am claiming £2500 in charges from HSBC and have got to the court stage. My claim has been transferred from MCOL to my local court and today I have received a letter saying:

    ''The claimant must file at court and serve on every party a further statement of case by 4pm on 6 July, This must set out a concise statement of facts upon which the claimant relies detailing charges incurred.''

    My question is: Is this the same as the particulars of claim and summary of charges which I submitted to MCOL, or is there something more i should be sending to the court and HSBC?

    Thanks

    :confused: Hi all, I am in the process of claiming back £1275.19 from Nat West! Been through it step by step since 12th Feb 2007!!! Feels like ages and tens of letters later..... I am now at the court stage. Just got letter today from Reading Court Judge saying
    1. The Defence be struck out as an abuse of process
    2. The Claimant(me) may enter Judgement forthwith.

    Please. please someone help me! does this mean that I've won and Nat West will pay?:confused:

    How delightful, in actual fact this is the 2nd time I know of that Reading Court have done this to Natwest.

    The words "abuse of process" tells us all that the court is fed up with no shows from banks. Enter your claim and enjoy ... WELL DONE

    Will Natwest fall for the same again ??? Of course they will unless they want to tell us the true costs of bouncing a cheque/direct debit.
    DREAM ON THE BANKS

    PS: Don't forget that if they don't pay you within the statutory time the court gives them, you can request that the bailiffs take action.

    I know this may sound a little obvious but have you asked the court what it means? I'm sure they can explain it to you in plain english.
    Got It & Spent It :dance:
    IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)
    MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)
    I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)
    CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)
    BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)
    On Hold :mad:
    A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)
    BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)
    BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)
    ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)

    I have been trying to get £575 plus £60 intrest refunded by Halifax plus £80 court fee. Its been a drag to say the least (3 months). I have followed the advice of this site to a T. However. I heard nothing back so I issued the Court Papers on Monday. Today I received an offer letter dated 2 weeks ago ? for just £280 which they say is going to deposited into my account. I have written back advising them that I would accept no less than £600 and that the court papers had now been issued. Is this just playing games again , am i likely to get more that just £280 if I play hard ball ? any advice please - i am begining to lose hope

    Don't lose hope! This is what the bank wants you to do! Just go read the success stories for inspiration :)most banks appear to be settling 1 to 2 days before it gets to court! I know its a real worry to everyone out there (including me) but you have to have hope and nerves of steel to get through this! YOU KNOW YOU ARE RIGHT AND THEY KNOW THEY ARE IN THE WRONG!

    Anyone that feels like accepting a lower offer should consider that any amount they don't pay back to you is money in their pockets!

    In your case just think of it as the banks are trying to keep your £435 in their pocket!

    Food for thought
    Did you know that last year Halifax made £5,537,000,000 profit?

    I find it amazing that Barclays appear to be firmly placing the noose around their necks. Don't they realise that if they allow this to go to court, they will have to answer the question "how do you calculate your charges"

    This would be game set and match for all banks and it will cost them £billions

    Have faith that Barclays Bank will lose, as you know even their own staff admit that costs are no more than £2.00
    THEY SAY SO HERE
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ex1CfVrFHSQ It only needs one bank to blow the whistle on themselves and the rest go with them. SO, make certain you tell Barclays of your full intentions and indeed the court
    We all need just one bank to be forced into this position and the game of penalty charges will be over

    I sent of a letter on Wednesday reclaiming just over £300.00 from natwest.
    Just looked at my account online and they took another £38.00 out yesterday.

    Are they allowed to take money out when they have not notified you as they have done this with 2 lots of referral fees at £90.00 each over the last 4 weeks as well and never notified me once.

    please let me know what you think........
