I'd give it a go ringing one of the good guys and asking them to revaluate/make you an offer. It appears at the moment people are getting equal success in a shorter time by using this route.
I couldn't be bothered with the court route and perservered (politely) and i got all my charges (not the interest) back within three weeks of asking for a revaluation. They are using the stalling technique. I was shocked to hear last night that my brother had got a letter saying nothing will be reapid after the inital two letters demanding charges back and he hasn't bothered to take any further action as he thought it was over !! They owe him £1600 so i think i'll be giving him a kick to get it back !!!!
Let us know how you get on !!

Well gang,
You're not going to believe this one!
I hand delivered my letter asking for charges to be refunded on the 15th of June.
Got the 'we don't think so' letter on the 22nd.
Called and asked for rethink on the 25th.
Got an offer today! I am in shock!
I did do as the letter suggested and rang the FO again, but they said to give the bank one more chance to play nice, so I rang up just a few minutes ago and got the very, very nice Stephen. He said he would get in touch with the person handling our claim (Dave McKinstrey - anyone dealt with him???) and that he knew him personally and that he was sure Mr. McKinstrey would be in touch either today or tomorrow morning.
Like I said, I really think they've gotten it down to an art now! I think it's the old claims that they were swamped with that they are struggling to wade through. I really wouldn't want to do what those poor guys do everyday! It really must be hard work because they know that every time the phone rings it's going to be either a request for money or a complaint. At least we've all been lucky enough to deal with some really great people, you have to admit.
How many times do you call up a business and get an absolute ogre on the other end of the line? If nothing else, we should at least credit Halifax with having the smarts to hire some top notch people.
I mean, Halifax is a HUGE corporation but it's mostly made up of people like us- just the average guy trying to make a living. The company rules are made at the top by people who will never face us- just shareholders. The people we deal with every day are the ones who do all the real work and get the same measly paycheck the rest of us do.
I think it would be in our own best interests to post some thank you letter and mention some of the great people we've dealt with. What do you guys think?
So, to all the Grahams, Ronnies, Ronalds, Stephens, and all the rest, here's a huge THANK YOU!0 -
Hey Elly,
Why don't you tell your brother you'll go after the money for him if he splits it with you 50/50?! lol
I can't imagine letting it slip away like that- I'm going to use what ever (if ever!) we get to buy a new wheelchair! lol I want one of those sporty little Cadbury's purple one that is actually narrow enough to get through doorways for a change! lol0 -
Hi all
Got my offer letter through the post today for £821, 44% of the £1844 I claimed for.
The number on my letter is 01977 627251, different from most others who've posted on here. The guy's name that sent me the letter is "Ravi Moore" - anyone dealt with him?
I've been trying the above number all day, with the same result - the phone rings for about a minute, then you get a BT announcement saying that they hung up!
Obviously I want to get the offer as close to the claim amount as possible, but to do that need to speak to the guy handling my claim. How am I meant to do that if he won't answer the flippin' phone!? grrr.
Cheers
Sean
PS I'm not giving up!0 -
Good Idea !
I think the thanks should only be to those who have helped as we would't like them to get in trouble for being professional, ameniable, helpful people.
good lulck to all those still in the process !!!0 -
Had my letter through today saying sorry we dont think the charges are unlawful !!!!!! off in so many words.
Does it matter I am claiming charges back from a Halifax Credit card rather than a bank account?
Should I just ring the magic number and ask for my case to be re-evaluated?
Any help would be great guys0 -
Hiya,
Don't give up! Try 01977627313 Graham and co always answer their phone.
They will help you get in touch with the person who is dealing with your claim.0 -
I tried the number on my letter 'til I got bored so I called Graham's Gorgeous Go Getters and got straight through to my Prince Charming Stephen. lol Yep, Use Snowdrop's number!0

I've been reading this forum for a while so heres my story so far.
I sent off my letter to Trinity Road with a £10 cheque and waited 40 days and then I gave them a few more days because I'm nice like that, after no letter and my cheque not being cashed I rang them to be told I should send off another cheque and letter but do it recorded delivery as my letter could have been lost anywhere by the royal mail or in their offices (so I had to cancell my cheque too).
I was pretty annoyed by this and waited a few days before sending off the next letter and another cheque, which was actually a good thing as I recieved a letter from the Halifax and it said they had cancelled my cheque as they weren't charging £10 anymore and I had a list of my charges and the dates.
I then sent of letter number 2 last week and I did do this one recorded so I knew they had recieved it this time, well today I got my rejection letter.
I've read through this thread and I have a really mushy brain now so I'm going to check I have this right, the best thing for me to do now is ring the number on the letter and ask for it to be re-evaluated?!?!?!?0 -
Can we try and keep this thread for posts relating to contacting the Lovely Graham and his colleagues
