Using a different name is going to stop the bank realising you are claiming from the same account. You can claim again provided you didn't sign anything to say you wouldn't claim again.0

Just wanted to thank eveyone for their help and comments and also wish all of you still battling the banks the best of luck! Stick with it, its worth it! x0 -
...Stick with it, its worth it! x
I hope so! I've just sent off my letter to request my bank statements and kickstart the process today. I've been waiting on a document from HBOS who promised to list my charges and send them to me...and I'm still waiting...
After a fiasco yesterday where they COULDN'T justify a bank charge it was time take action! So off went my letter by special delivery today. No blaming Royal Mail this time around.
On another note I've opened a new bank account and may be closing the HBOS one over the next few weeks...should I be taking any other action? And do I still have a right to reclaim even if I'm no longer an existing customer?

Hi, I was looking for the HSBC forum I usually post on but can't seem to find it anymore! Apologies if this is the wrong place to post, but if anybody could help or if direct me to the correct place that would be great.
So! I have been through the whole claim process with HSBC, declined their partial offer and was due to go to court next tuesday to claim for the full amount of £810.68 which includes statutory interest.
However, this morning I received a letter from the solicitor for HSBC offering me the full amount including court costs - yippee! BUT I am confused about the amount they are offering me.
The letter states they are offering "and ex gratia payment in the sum of £889.03 which includes statutory interest on the charges to be refunded to the date of this letter, and Court fees you have paid". I paid £ 80 court fees, so this doesn't add up, but how does further statutory interest to the date of the letter work? I tried to call but they don't answer calls. Funny that...
Any help very much appreciated, I would like to accept and get this over with!0 -
Well done LauraG007

I am looking for a little more advice??
I recently received my first decline letter after being patient and waiting seven weeks, I had then thought about proceeding to court or FOS but I decided to call HBOS and without saying anything the guy said my case would be re-evaluated immediately and I would hear within two weeks, this would then take it well over the eight weeks limit (as my first claim letter was on 19th April 2007), should I be pushing them for an answer or letting them decide? Has anyone had a similar experience?0 -
Hi Over they years I have been charged about £600 by cahoot credit card. I have sent a recorded letter to cahoot, and they received it, no reply from cahoot. I have sent about 8 emails, each one received with the automated response we will get back to you or ignored. I sent general query from my email not relating to the charges got response straight away, then when i went back and said how do you reply to a general email but not a charge one. I was told it is now a tier 2 complaint and it has to go to abbey national as they afre the company owner. I did that i emailed abbey zero response from abbey. other than dealing with it after first email 5 emails later no response to anyone.
What do i do / has anybody actually won against cahoot. i must add the account is closed

Hi all, I am in the process of claiming back £1275.19 from Nat West! Been through it step by step since 12th Feb 2007!!! Feels like ages and tens of letters later..... I am now at the court stage. Just got letter today from Reading Court Judge saying
1. The Defence be struck out as an abuse of process
2. The Claimant(me) may enter Judgement forthwith.
Please. please someone help me! does this mean that I've won and Nat West will pay?0 -
Sounds like it to me, do what they say!0

I have been trying to get £575 plus £60 intrest refunded by Halifax plus £80 court fee. Its been a drag to say the least (3 months). I have followed the advice of this site to a T. However. I heard nothing back so I issued the Court Papers on Monday. Today I received an offer letter dated 2 weeks ago ? for just £280 which they say is going to deposited into my account. I have written back advising them that I would accept no less than £600 and that the court papers had now been issued. Is this just playing games again , am i likely to get more that just £280 if I play hard ball ? any advice please - i am begining to lose hope0
