My claim with Natwest was acknowledged 6/6/07. Do they now have 14 days from then to enter a defence? are they working days? or do they get 28 days from then? I have received no paperwork from MCOL so am unsure when I can enter a default.
regards

Hi gingerninja, where can we find this statement please
Thanks
Hi Cyberman, have lost the thread but if i get a reply i will pass it on.--0 -
This si the first time i have used the forum, and hope this makes sense.
I am in the process of trying to get my charges back from Abbey. I sent my first letter requesting statements on the 1st March, have had the 2 standard letters saying they needed more time, but the 8 weeks is nearly up and i havent heard from them.On reading other peples stories i think i will have to go the next stage now, which does frighten me ,but we are determined to get our charges back.
I have asked for a refund of over £5,000 but have read that the amount has to be under £5,000 to go to court,is that right, should i amend it,and also not put interest on as this would take it over as well.Sorry if this sounds daft but just need to do it right..thanks for reading this..0 -

many thanks0 -
theozziend wrote: »As I say in an email at the bottom, I have had my court date for weeks. Barclays have made no attempt to make me a better offer. Should I be worried? Perhaps they think they have something on me. I am claiming charges levied for going over overdraft limit and bouncing direct debits, plus interest. It amounts to £4,600 at the moment, shortly to be increased with the later charges. I am getting seriously worried. If I don't get my charges back, there's a good chance I may be in serious financial difficulties because the charges have escalated so much. Each month they are putting me further and further into the mire. If it doesn't get settled in July my credit rating is going to be very dire indeed. They are responsible for doing this! How can they take almost £200 from your account every month. It's wrong:mad:
theozziend .... this is the way the banks work, in particular Barclays seem to be in the lead for "extortion" The answer for these cretins is to write to them saying ...
"I require a full and detailed explanation and breakdown of your punative charges. Tell them you will request the same information from the court.
Also advise them that you do not accept such charges being applied to your account and you consider them unlawful unless they can show you otherwise."
It is clear that Barclays Bank are not acting in the interests of the public, a common phrase used by the DTI when they close companies down.
