Oh yeh my apologies, i missed the screen size.
Im sure you could find a tablet cheaper than that.
This 1 at £135
or this 1 also at 135
Ive heard the 2 brands mentioned on here before, maybe look if they can be got cheaper on other sites via google.0 -

I like the look of those thanks. I nipped into cpw today to have a play with some but of course they have very few on show. The guy in there said avoid the versus cos its very slow. I did see that on here at a grabbit price £49 i think but its now £99 but I'm glad I didn't get it as she's not a very patient person when it comes to technology so I'd like one that's reasonably fast although I don't expect it to be as fast as an pad cos its no where near the price. He said the Archos was a good value one. Think it was Archos could be Aichos. I'll have to check.0 -

Yes thats the problem buying cheap as they can tend to be slow, ok for some people but not others.

I honestly cant say, its like mumbo jumbo to me, the Sumvision comes with 16gb of space straight out of the box an it seems its faster on paper to me and its also Android 4.1 which is Jelly Bean.
You might be better of starting a new thread with links to the Sumvision and Acer and ask which 1 of the 2 posters think is best. you might get some posters who have either 1 and can recommend it.0 -
I think the Sumvisions are excellent value, especially if your looking for the most 'bang for your buck' but there is always a trade off somewhere and I believe the Ainol Novo is a little better made so it depends on the bias of your priorities.
Neither are bad buys. Its tricky comparing spec for spec. For example the Sumvison has a 5600mah battery, the Ainol 8000mah. Direct comparison is not possible which is why I always ask about intended use as the target spec. needs to be adapted to suit.
Printing to an Epson wifi enabled printer isn't too hard, Epson provide an app that will identify and connect to most models.
The problem is most Android apps are not designed to print so have no option to. It becomes a bit convoluted. Generally you need to create a document and then save it. Then use the Epson app to print it and its limited in the formats it understands or the print options.0 -
Funny you should mention starting a new thread as I was wondering if I ought to. I don't know how to post links though.I honestly cant say, its like mumbo jumbo to me, the Sumvision comes with 16gb of space straight out of the box an it seems its faster on paper to me and its also Android 4.1 which is Jelly Bean.

I think I'd like 16g rather than 8gb.
Thanks for all your help tho 👍.0 -

The Acer that was mentioned appears to be a refurb. not new, always makes me nervous. Someone may have sent it back because it overheats and crashes after an hour but they wouldn't find that during refurb testing and it would be hard to prove it was defective later on.0 -

Grandma only likes to print stuff off the Internet or print out her email. She doesn't make her own documents such as word or excel etc and then print. She's a print junkie really - anything that catches her eye but she's getting better. Lol. So I'd rather she didn't have to create a document. Is possible to just print from the screen?
I think what she needs a tablet for is pretty simple so the Aniol appeals to me because it seems to have what we might need but that perhaps forgot to consider.0 -
lonestarfan, Don't start a new thread use this one. I can rename it if you wish?0
