    I'm too with PIPEX and I phoned after 12 months requesting my migration code and gave me a good deal at the time to stay with them, unknown to me and no mention of it from PIPEX that I too was locked into another 12 month contract. Beware of them, their CS is going down hill, well what would you expect from a company who use David Hosslehoff on its adverts!

    I've been mostly happy with Pipex in my three years or so with them, though am considering moving elsewhere to get a better speed (am currently on 1MB on a line that supports 5.5MB) at a cheaper price (paying £23.44 per month).
  • I have had problems with them to - thought it had gone away but started receiving correspondence.

    I moved house after 3 years with pipex which were the best at the time - I decided to stay with them on the basis that they were offering me 1mb at 1/2 mb cost - I found out a few months in that this wasn't the case (the 1mb hadn't happened becasue of some reason with BT at the time - and they couldnt now put me onto that service as it wasnt offered anymore - and I would have to pay more and go into a 12 month contract), and decided to move and get a better price elsewhere.

    I left them in September with 3 months left on my contract - which they charged me £82 for - I didn't pay at the time as the direct debit bounced and then I changed bank and cancelled the direct debit.

    Got a letter the other week saying that they had reactivated my DD with them - I thought this was actually illegal (can anyone advise on this? - the banks said it was "naughty")- so went to bank and they have stopped anything being set up with that originator number in the future - I now have to go throuhg their compliants procedure over the £82.

    Months and montha after I wrote the original thread here (November last year!) and despite having:

    1. Verbal confimation;
    2. Email confirmation;
    3. Letter confirmation

    that my account is closed and I owe them nothing they have still been demanding money from me.

    I have made about 20 to 30 calls to them in total. The last time they promised to write to me. All I can say is that PIPEX ARE A TOTAL SHAMBLES. Let me repeat that: PIPEX ARE A TOTAL SHAMBLES.PIPEX ARE A TOTAL SHAMBLES.PIPEX ARE A TOTAL SHAMBLES.PIPEX ARE A TOTAL SHAMBLES.PIPEX ARE A TOTAL SHAMBLES.PIPEX ARE A TOTAL SHAMBLES.PIPEX ARE A TOTAL SHAMBLES.PIPEX ARE A TOTAL SHAMBLES.

    You get the idea? I think that Martin might want to take this one further. It really is a pity that a company that used to be good has degenerated into such a total mess. PIPEX - shame on you.
  • Please see here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=5596055#post5596055 I have posted about Pipex.

    They are chasing money up to 2 years ago. They tell me that their Customer Services miss advised customers and now they are chasing for the money!

    Are they regulated? Make sure that you complain!
  • Also forgot to say which is the problem I have, when you leave whatever date you get the MAC code you have to pay 30 days from here. Even if you use only 5 days because your new provider is better then Pipex. It's in their Terms & Conditions apparently. So you pay for a service that you don't use. Shocking.

    Oh yes - I had to pay the "total shambles" company that money - that didn't bother me too much. Apart from their rudeness (see 1st post) and their continual promises each time that my account will be closed (they never did) and the promises that "it will all be sorted" (it never was) - they KEEP telling me I owe money!

    Despite written, spoken and email confirmation that I don't!!!

    Pipex were featured on the BBCs 'Don't get done get Dom'.

    Basically covered a couple being charged for services they never got.

    If you want to see what Pipex CS is like, even when they know the BBC is involved then you can watch the following Google Video .......

    Great minds think alike.

    Although fools seldom differ. ;)
