If you're on DD then you can tell your bank to cancel it and tell them not to allow Poopex to set up any more DD's or let them take any more money. I'm paying by credit card and you can't cancel a CC regular payment.

Do you think it would be wise in that case to change my payment method from cc to dd? I plan to leave soon and am dreading it:eek:

I have been with PIPEX for a couple of years now. I have my broadband, line rental, and calls with them. I knew I was due to come out of my years contract for my broadband this month so I called and was told I could cancel on the 18th May. I was pleased with this as I had haggled a really good deal from BT!
I called PIPEX to get my migration cade and was told that I was actually still in contract with them untill November 2007. They advised me that as I had "upgraded" (and I use that term loosely as nothing changed with my package!) in november last yeat then a new years contract comes into play.
I told them I wasnt advised of this and he said that the woman I had dealt with wrote a note on my file to say she'd advised me of this. I asked for a recording of the call or a transcropt of some sort but was told they destroy all call recordings after 3 months! They offered to take £3 per month of my bill.
This isnt good enough, I was mislead and I want to cancell the package I have with them.

    Anyone have any ideas?
    Loan 7.2% APR- £3187.00
    Barclaycard 27.5% APR - £967.00
    C.card 4% APR - £2000

    VERY SCARY STUFF!

If they dont have the recording they cant hold you to teh term as thats their proof you agreed to a new contract. A note on an acocunt isnt proof they actually said anything to you.

If you've been using the service then thats a good enough agreement for you accepting the T&C's

I can see both sides of the argument but i dont think it'll hold up in terms of trying to cancel the service, but you never know!

T&C are one thing, contract length/renewal is another.

Have a look on their site and see what terms are for upgrading, if you did not get any new hardware I can't see why they need to extend the contract. They use 12 month contracts so they can recoupe their costs to BT for connection and to you for hardware.

Could I get faster, with no extra cost, from Homecall - Pipex.

    NO WAY>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
    ..................................................................

    BEWARE ..................upgrade of service

any upgrade of service, I mean any, is going to hurt - without your knowledge you will are entering into a new 12 month contract

they will stitch you up for an extra 12 months without your knowledge with any upgrade of service .and have the cheek to say they informed you, and if you cancel early expect a whopping breach of contract fee... ouch.

    C. S. a total joke .
You have been warned ............PIPEX !!!! DONT GO THERE

I looked at their T&C and could not see any mention of it.

Mind you my eyes are not as good as they once were so maybe it's in the small print.

2 more months and counting then im leaving pipex... not becuase of the CS.. tbh i only ever called them 2 times within 4-5 year once to upgrade to 1mb then again to upgrade to 8mbit.

its because of the slowdown on websites when trying to access then they time out. its not the website im trying to go to problem its the routing from pipex to the websites.

im talking like moneysavingexpert times out same with adslguide , quidco hardocp etc

so changing to sky 25 quid broadband max and sky basic same as im paying pipex apart from i get sky tv and faster broadband at same cost.

for me CS aint a big issue as i never phone them unless its broke
