So after discussing with DH the fact that we need to stop spending on amazon, this morning he informed me that he'd overspent to the sum of £400! Cue a discussion of needs vs wants and a reminder that we 'owe' our savings £4000.
So my £350 targets is going towards the savings until they are back up to normal and DH has promised no more amazon for a whileCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

The weather has been scorching and half our lawn is dying underneath the huge swimming pool which has been a godsend, literally we have jumped in the pool immediately when getting home :rotfl:

A few minutes to myself and last month.....£361.81 to the savings! :T Not too bad, eh? especially after bailing £400 out to DH.
Aww, you should have seen DS yesterday. 4 years old and in a graduation outfit already :rotfl: He's one more week at preschool so they had a class ceremony, tea and magician complete with back paper hats. He seriously ate every sweet thing available and had no room for dinner!
Another few mins and after taking into account all my previous savings we now 'only' owe the savings £1519.12.
This means my £20,000 fund is down to 0 so I have to set a new figure on the challenge . sob.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Pay day has come and gone, £400 towards the savings.
Feel a bit like super mum today with an almost tidy house, garden and family fed. Sometimes DH walks in from work and wonders if there's been a party/war.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

£366 towards savings this month :T
I've been plodding along, saving a little here and there but the oomph has been missing and the weights creeping on so I went looking through money saving tip lists on the web and things like...
Drink more water
Walk instead of bus/car
Eat less meat
Came up,basically be healthy!
#cough# no need to mention that if I don't lose the weight I'll have to buy a new set of clothesCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Hi smlsave, well done on the savings :T I too find amazon very easy to spend money on, not least because you don't even have to type all your card details in, literally one click and it's winging it's way to you  maybe you could suggest dh adds things to a wish list instead of buying things straight away?
I'm also feeling a little heavier after the holidaysI know how to be healthy but sometimes life gets in the way. Good luck with getting back on track :j

Hi Crumpets
I've walked to work and home this week, ate lots of veg and lowered my coffee intact :A but there are biscuits.....biscuits everywhere!
ginger nuts, shortbread, bourbons so I ate one of eachnicely justified that I gave my nectarine to a homeless man on my way to work so I 'deserved' biscuits.
I have tried to get DH to delay spending on Amazon, apparently "anything under £50 isn't expensive" when I chatted to DH about spending. I am very tempted to spend £50 every day for a while so he sees how it adds up!
Always hard when a saver and a spender live together, but I think not as hard as 2 spenders living together - image the stress large debts cause!Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Mines not really a spender but he doesn't appreciate how the "oh its only £18, £25,£32" etc adds up.... until it point it out to him!!0
