Thanks Lucky
I have to find circa £50 to hit the £350 this month so I've a few days to find the extra ......does £20 swiped from DH wallet count?Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

So I made the £350 target, just, by emptying wallets and the change jar
May is going to be harder as I've bought another dress.
Sorry I haven't been on more often but I'm finding it hard to read the forums as my tablet doesn't zoom with the new setup but today it's back to normal?Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Stoopid new mse setup....grumble, grumble....don't you realise that you make my eyes hurt
Anywhoo I was chuffed to see last weeks email saying that its time to remortgage if you can as my ERC dropped to 1% so off I went (remember me being excited about 10 weeks ago about the appointment?) My application is with the bank after providing bank statements, building insurance, life assurance and payslips - just to change rate at existing lender!
So roughly two weeks from now our rate should drop from 5.09% to 2.69% and as I'm keeping the payment the same our MF date will go to 2035 :T
On other news my bedroom is now a shell with no ceiling or plaster on the walls.. so I'm living at mum'sCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

It's been 11 days since I last visited mse! not that long really but it seems like ages.......
I'm sat in my newly done bedroom and I love the mellow mocha walls, silver wallpaper and grey carpet with the oak furniture :happyhear The finish is shoddy as DH rushed but I swing between moaning about it and ignoring it
A total of ..... duh DUH duh.....£1100 spent in the end (£400 more than DH estimated it and £100 more than my estimation- insert smug SmlSave face please)
So it's an expensive month and the £600 play bark has come out too
A 'trim the sails' on the joint account will have to be done soon so we can build the savings up again. Not forgetting the £1900 for the remortgage to come out next month.....gulp.
The new mortgage offer finally came through and so I checked the interest rates before signing :T they've only just gone and dropped again! :T after a flurry of emails I've got an appointment Monday to try and get the new, lower rate of 2.55. DH doesn't know why I'm bothering.....Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

So the new mortgage rate has been applied for and I just have to wait for the paperwork again.
I finally asked DH about why the new mse doesn't zoom and after lots of technical jargon that I didn't understand.....basically it's an error with the coding that mse have done, not the tablet breaking thankfully.
I have not been good saving money lately and need to get my self into gear. DH and I aren't on the best terms atm so I'm comfort eating and buying lots of little bitsCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

So while I was being all grumpy my paycheck arrived and I got paid for overtime I forgot about
so £324 has been paid to the fund!
I was totally sure that this month was doomed to fail savings wise but it looks notCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Hi smlsave, that's a great remortgage rate. It is surprising how much hassle it is though isn't it. We fixed for 5 years this time as a couple of years comes round so fast and it's time to hunt out all the paperwork again. Your bedroom sounds lovely too and well worth the expense.
You really are achieving so much at the moment.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Hi CathT
we've gone for a five year fix too. From our original mortgage paying back £2.15 for every £1 borrowed the new deal is £1.38 for every £1 so a big difference!
The Sml's household is a more positive place of late (apart from DD at night as she's teething, I'm listening to her cry with DH atm and will have to rescue him)Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

I just missed the £350 target in May due to getting distracted and not transferring the last £23 :mad:arrrgh :mad:But I have some overtime this month arranged and I plan to eeek out the pennies from my personal account as in July I'm going to go crazy and enjoy my birthday.
My Use Less drive is going well and has morphed into a Use It Up challenge where I'm using unloved shampoo as shower gel and shaving gel and all those little soaps you steal from hotels are now sitting at the sinks.
My phone is fully charged from work
I walked to and from work
My work lunches this week only cost £1 and I only visited the coffee shop once :TI feel like I've done well....:A
....and we'll just ignore the joint finances for nowCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
