SmlSave's extremely small steps to reducing the mortgage

Well I keep eating cake but I'm still hopping around Cath T! It explains all the carpet crumbs
I've put just £6.78 as my first pennies towards the target this month.
Also just ordered £700 worth of play bark to be delivered Friday and some garden tools worth £30 - it's a good thing that money was budgeted for. However DH is talking about buying premade edging which I understand will make life easier but my god, the cost!Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

:wall:Urggh :wall: we went to effort yesterday to go to the cinema, just DH and me as I had vouchers. It was nice to get out with just us but not an amazing film and it was out of the way.....this morning I opened my wallet to see the bl##dy vouchers looking at me  I was obviously so tired and frazzled that I paid with my card instead of the vouchers  arggggghhhhh
Can't. Believe. I. Did. That.

I failed in my attempt to sell the bl##dy vouchers due to a complete waste of space who didn't come to collect them.
So they've been shredded and binned as they are now out of date.
On the good newsI've finally been given my pay raise and it will be back dated to March. I now earn a grand 15k a year pro rata :rotfl:DH was taken back by the realisation of how little I earn compared to him. If I look at it that my first ever job paid £13k then over 14 years a 2k increase is pitiful
Good thing I like my job, eh?
The bark has arrived and DH plus DS are ferrying it round the back while I sit in bed with DD. Poor thing is not herself so I suspect she's caught chicken pox from DS. Being in quarantine does mean an awful lot of NS days so I should have another £50 towards this months target Monday.
DH has got a little more on board with the use less challenge, mainly with food he's stopped making such large portions for the kids and now puts leftovers in the fridge instead of just throwing it away :TCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

I feel a bit like super mum
I find batch cooking really stressful but managed a leg of lamb, quiche, dauphino potatoes, cookies and chocolate torte.
I even portioned it all into 'meals' - how good am I!?! :T
DH outdone himself this weekend, the once unsafe and messy rear garden has been edged and is absolutely full of bark. Thank god for the lovely weather, DS loved painting everything in the garden with muddy water. BIL convinced DH not to get premade edging so a few pennies saved :beer:Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

hope DD is feeling better
Anytime after 1 is great pavlovsI love feeding guests
DD has perked up and still no spots have appeared :T DH is off up north next week so my fingers are crossed that neither he nor DD get the pox then
:A I feel very luckynext door have just given me curtains, a rug, cushions and some other bits and bobs to brighten up downstairs. Those I don't want can be passed on. A nice bright blue is so cheerful compared to old fashioned creamy flowers.
The other neighbours had DH round to make use of his circular saw so I feel a bit more 'even' as they looked after DD for a bit last weekend.
So I feel today's tip for the list would be to help each other which is a really nice oneCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Hi Cath
you were right, day 5/6 DD started eating again and playing
She looks a sight but is back to normal, she's figured that walking with finger assistance is wonderful so I'm running around bent double most days!
Really just a quick pop in before I go to work (manic) to say I've been paid and £234 has gone towards the £350 challenge. :T:TI need to add up my Tilly tidies, spare change and see how much more i need to find to hit target.
Oh, and thank god for sunny weather as the whole couch had to be washed yesterday after DS was poorly, but shhhhh..... don't tell DH, i actually had a nice day off looking after DS as we got in the garden and actually did some tidying up.
If DH should ask though ....... I had a miserable day looking after a poorly child, doing loads of washing.....:rotfl:Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
