No need for cake today as there were biscuits at work :)

The daily load of washing is on and I know that I'm not the only one who uses half the recommended washing powder ;) but I was thinking that using less of everything wouldn't be a bad thing either. So it's less shower products, a little less filling in my sandwiches and a little longer between shopping.....hopefully :rotfl: we must not forget that riots are started in the SmlSave when ham, cheese and bread run out!

I was wondering if anyone who reads this still had the link to my old diary? It would be lovely to see again. :lovethoug

I often use half a dishwasher tablet too. Saw on a frugal post somewhere that someone used about a tablespoon of washing powder!

half a dishwasher tablet! now there's an idea :D unfortunately I've got a stockpile of those funny ones with liquid and powder in. But when they're gone, the powder ones will be halved from now on!!!!

Gosh what a day, I'm glad to be home especially now the rugrats are in bed asleep. An early night for everyone I think as it was something of a comedy sketch this morning with DH and I both thinking we had it worse last night (up multiple times trumps uncomfortable bed btw)

I suggested to DH about cutting dishwasher tablets in half and I can safely say that this will only happen when I load the dishwasher :p his lordship was not amused by the idea :rotfl:

£97.49 is a good start to the £350 month total so thanks interest :) and I have got good news....

I may be getting a pay rise

The boss has said verbally that I'll be getting a raise but of course the other partners will have to ok the same but you can't hear better news than that after a cr#ppy day, can you? so all that asking paid off.....:rotfl:

It's been a spendy week but there's still £10 in my wallet which I'm taking to the pub  have to support the locals  and to catch up with a friend

The use less initiative is obviously only something I'm willing to do as DH just shakes his head at me, DD is too young and DS uses half a toilet roll each time he goes! So while I'll never see any pennies that are saved, using less is more about thinking frugal ...... and hopefully it's catching :p

I remembered to bring my (fully charged) mobile home with me today and it's not the only thing I brought home from work, I brought some work home for the first time ever  I'm hoping I'll get paid for it, or perhaps it will add a little something when the bosses decide how much the intended pay rise will be. My fingers are crossed.

Off to see what tilly tidys can be done :)

  • Personally I reduce, reuse, recycle as a theme for my life. Reducing just dowsnt save money it saves so much more. Give yourself a great big pat on the back!

I use half the washing powder, very little washing up liquid, shampoo etc.

the reuse and recycle could be referred to as holding onto everything but I ebay/gumtree/charity shop a lot of stuff.

I'm also really getting strict on myself for not buying unnecessary things. If I don't REALLY need it I don't buy it. Less stuff/junk hanging around.

I have hardly anything in my actual wheely bin at the end of 2 weeks, those bemoaning biweekly collections bed to take a leaf out of your (and mine) books. Not a lot goees to landfill from our house.

Hi smlsave, sorry it's been ages since I last visited :o I love the 20k challenge, best of luck with it.

I don't know if you have already got your tesco legoland vouchers, but I noticed yesterday that they also do a part cash part voucher deal where you can change £2.50 vouchers plus £15 (I think) cash per person. Obviously only if you don't have enough vouchers to buy all tickets outright.
