DH said.....I can't quite believe....that he'd put £350 extra into the DIY fund next year #faint#

Not only would that amount make a huge difference, but I can't quite believe that he's been spending £350 a month on stuff!

    Grrrrr

I used to battle with selling or donating stuff. I think I get more satisfaction from the house being less cluttered than from the few £'s it may sell for. I guess it depends what it is but people on fb want stuff for nothing anyway!

What DIY plans do you have?

I know what you mean CathT, I almost sold a dress on fb for £2 and then they wanted delivery! So everything is just getting donated now although I cost it all up in my head. :o

Feeding really proud of myself for doing a batch of pasta sauce while DD slept and cleaning the house, I even wiped down the kitchen cupboard doors :T of course, 20 mins after DS came home it looks like a battlefield but I know it's clean.

The pasta sauce needs a bit of oomph though

    Its Christmas!!!!!!!!

    :santa2::santa2::santa2::santa2::santa2:

In an hour I finish work and we're at the in-laws to start the craziness! I am truly not sure whether to be happy excited or scared excited as the kids have turned into Christmas monsters :EasterBun
They celebrate today as they're European so the kids get two days of presents and being spoiled rotten. (basically they are going to live on chocolate and crisps for two days)
    :xmastree:
Due to a small error with the Christmas grocery shop where I ordered two turkey crowns :o we're £40 down and I think I need to do an Eat It Up challenge in January to clear out the cupboards and freezer. Hopefully this will reduce our grocery spend and encourage us to eat healthier after the chocolate binge that is Christmas/New Year.

But good news on the money front...... I got a Christmas bonus 10 times the amount of last year :T £500 :j:beer::j I'll admit I was tempted to keep some back to spoil myself but it's gone in the joint account towards the bathroom DIY fund. :A

I'm now a nutribullet owner and sent DS and DH to go get eggs, beetroot, butter and spinach.....they came back with five bags of fruit, sausages etc!:rotfl: I'm glad it's not January yet or my Eat It Up challenge would have failed instantly.

The smoothie I made was a hit with everyone, even DD who would live on carbs if possible.

I went boxing day shopping and came home £140 lighter so I can't say that DH is the only one who is good at spending. I bought a few presents for later in the year but mostly bought clothes and jewellery for me :p

I've been hitting the £350 target so easily that it's easy to spend and not think about the pennies. If you'd told me five years ago that I'd be casual over a +£100 spend I would have laughed at you

Hope you had a good Christmas Smlsave, I'm :rotfl: at you buying two turkey crowns ;) I love smoothies so I'll be interested to hear how you get in with a nutri bullet. I just use an ancient blender to make mine at the moment. I love spinach, banana, half an avocado, spoon of nut butter and almond milk in mine. It makes a really filling breakfast smoothie :D

I tried a variation of Crumpets breakfast smoothie and it's my favourite so far :)

Spinach, blueberries, banana and peach is a popular one too.

The house is slowly resuming to normality......

    Happy New Year everyone :D
