I do agree that sometimes this forum is too politically correct and everyone here is hollier then though (sp??), but in this situation I disagreee, I would not be thinking that. I have step mother from Ukraine and I never thought off my father's money. That might be because I never ever expected any, as he is not rich and his health is not greatest so I would have never expected to be any left over anyway if I thought about it. I was also brought up to be completely self sufficient and not wait for hand outs to sort my life out.
My father had given me everything he had the first 18 years of my life, to bring me up, and now it is his term to life a life of Riley.
If that means he spends every penny he has to get a kiss and cuddle from someone every night, so be it!
I'm speaking here as a parent, my house will go to my daughter and I'm sure she knows this already, regardless of what man is in my life, I want my daughter to have what I have left, not someone who has been in my life for a far shorter period of time.

We're going completely off track here, the OP hasn't mentioned inheritence!

My sibling wants to get something done so that if our father does pass away we have paperwork ready to stop her taking his money.

If you are married to the man, it isn't that simple. Married people have inheritance rights and can contest a will - especially if it leaves them homeless.
  • She got in by having the keys to let the workmen in to do work on the property.
I'm doing this to care for my dad, she's already bugging him for a bank card, how long before she empties his account and disapears back home, not Ukraine.

Ah I see where the problem lies, we are answering different opening post!!
That is pretty much the only advice OP wanted, how to protect the inheritance!!!

Only in the second post info on illness were posted!

If this has been officially diagnosed and is serious enough, he may not be considered capable of agreeing to a marriage. How bad is he?
We don't know, he still says he has not got it even after being diagnosed (diagnosis was while he was still married to my mum) and he now attends his appointments with her and we are told nothing. From the little contact we get its getting worse but a 2 minute call is not enough to guage it and I am not a professional in these matters.

    How serious is the illness?
Oh I see it has been answered.. Who is his next of kin?
If it is serious enough his next of kin would be made aware? If he will need help and care?

The OP did not say I'm worried because my dad is not well, might be vulnerable, I want to check he's ok. It said we want to make sure we get his money after he's gone.
There's a world of difference between the two, political correctness doesn't come into it.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
