He goes on to remind us that this great champion of freedom also denounced Nelson Mandela as a terrorist.
All this prove (again) is that the left leaning papers are out to incite hatred against someone who's just died.

Calling people "righteous" just because they decide not to start dancing at the news is just pitiful, and shameful that the guardian has published such idiotic nonsense.

Same with Galloway. I mean, the guy is head of the "respect" party.

I've never seen such hatred from the left to be honest.

Just waiting to hear you all moaning about how "nasty" people are for wanting to see benefits removed from those who can work.

Near on a 1000 lives between each sides isn't worth the John Wayne/Iwo Jima feeling. If privately asked I wonder whether relatives of Falklands British deceased would say it was worth Thatchers' war.

    Do you know any?
Rather than all your assumptions throughout the thread about the islands and the war maybe if you took a moment to find out then you wouldn't need to wonder, you would know wouldn't you.

    What a crazy concept.

They wouldn't say, would they?. Forces pride and all that. My ex forces father had it right. And he saw it at the sharp end-no need for it apart from self serving politicians on these `smaller conflicts`.

No point as some have done in comparing the war on fascism to post 1945 wars.

The fall of the generals that resulted from the war probably save more lives although that is irrelevant to the justice of the war itself.
However they were Argentinians so maybe they don't count in your book.

Mention of Reagan only generates that Spitting image creation in my mind, the one with his finger on the Nuclear button

No, he had an opinion, and as his daughter you are bound to respect this opinion and follow it.

Does not make it so does it?

A bit like incarcerating a rapist upon conviction, how many subsequent rapes have you stopped? Do you count those in your statistics?

Your old man belittle the Islanders as not worthy of protection, have the freedom of thought to consider that for a while.

Regardless of whether you are breaking out the champagne tonight or mourning, you have to admit she puts today's policitians to shame (both Tories and Labour) in how lightweight they are.
