I'm finding all the Internet posts rejoicing in her death really very sick. To relish in the fact that somebody has died like MT very odd. Peeps time to have a word with yourselves.0

Germany and Kuwait weren't our territory, not convinced the Falklands are either in reality, but we claim them.
To be fair to her she didn't even know about the oil'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
If this is your opinion please explain why we only showed any interest in defending them after the occupation.
No doubt because, as so often happens, we didn't think they were under any direct threat. That was, obviously, wrong.
However, the point remains that, once attacked it was the Government's duty to do something about it.
Just because I happen to live on mainland UK doesn't make me more of a British citizen than those who live in the 'territories'. They are entitled to expect the same treatment & consideration as those of us who live on a small, insignificant island floating off the edge of Europe.0 -

Wouldn't surprise me if the Duke of Wellington (another national institution) had a similar send off. What was that comment of his, oh yes.Our army is composed of the scum of the earth - the mere scum of the earth.

It also calls to mind Jonathan Swift's 'Satirical Elegy on the Death of a Late Famous General' - said to be about the Duke of Marlborough...

That is not the point. The point is that it is our duty to protect our citizens and sovereign territory before they are invaded.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
