I've been feeling a bit down today about my rash, it seems to be easing on my torso but getting worse on my neck :( So Mum brought me for to a drive to a nearby town, just for a change of scene. She needed to sort out her home insurance, and was just going to renew with her existing insurer. Well, of course, me being Miss MSE, I gently persuaded her to go into a broker's office, and she ended up saving £80!

She was absolutely delighted. We promptly went to the shops, where she treated herself to a gorgeous top :D And then, as I was browsing, I saw a beautiful dress, which I tried on and loved! So I bought it :) It's 2 sizes smaller than I was a few months ago, and looks really nice on me. So we've both come home in a good mood.

    How is everyone today? xx

Well what a bonus - two dress sizes smaller. I remember when my first marriage was breaking down (he was having an affair) I lost a lot of weight. A lady who lived further down the road stopped me one day and told me how brilliant I looked and what diet had I used to lose weight. I didn't have the heart to tell her the truth!

Well done for being so MSE :)

Did the GP give you any idea how long it would take for the rash to go?

No idea. I'm still taking antihistamines, and really hoping that it clears up soon. It's so itchy and unsightly.

And I know! Another silver lining. My weight had crept up to 10st11lbs, which was verging on overweight for my height :o Now I'm 10st and look much better for it. I was 9st6lbs last summer and would like to get back to that weight if I can. But healthily! :)

Sudocrem might help. I have really sensitive skin and I get sweat rashes with teaching classes and its not irritated me at all. I actually bought it for one of my cats who somehow managed to get a chunk of fur pulled off his head, no idea how he did it, hes an indoor cat and my cats generally get along well

Anyway last night I was in bed and I was in a bit of discomfort because of a rash, put some on, its not gone yet but its not as sore as it was last night.

People use it for nappy rash, eczema, its about 2.50 a tub and it might help with the itching. Vets use it on pets as well as I discovered when I rang them about my cats head.

Thanks for that, Pauline! I might try it. I bought some porridge oats this morning, and will use them with warm water in an old pair of tights to try to ease it. I'll also bathe in salt water. If that doesn't work, I'll try the Sudocrem or maybe calamine lotion xxx

Hi Tay. I have read all your thread and de-lurked to say well done you and have you tried Lanacane on your rash. It wont cure it but it will stop the itching.

Never heard of it, thanks so much for the tip. I've just tried very salty water. If that doesn't help I'll try the oats next. I like natural remedies where possible. But if all else fails I'll be going for the chemicals!!!! This itch is driving me NUTS xx

Just to get this straight - the rash is clearing up on your torso although a little worse on your neck so you are feeling a bit down because of that. But you have gone down two dress sizes? Duh!

Recommendation: put on the new dress and do the happy dance in front of the mirror. And look at the Hobbs website, they have a sale on - go on, treat yourself, you've earned it!

(And no, I don't work for them but Mrs Alpha loves it!).

You could try Aveeno moisturising cream. It is oat based and incredibly soothing.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

    How about calamine cream?
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Lol. I like your logic! Yes, losing weight has made me happy. And hopefully the rash will clear up soon.

I don't shop at Hobbs - too formal for me! I'm more into vintage, quirky clothes :) But I like the idea of treating myself to some new stuff. Thank you.
