I meant this particular thread
but thank you for your nice comment and yes I agree it would have been more beneficial.
But if someone says how can I afford it? That really has nothing to do with benefit entitlement was what I meant.
And also you acknowledged that the BR and other debts had a big impact on it all, which others did not or their situation, it was a case of you can afford it.
I do think a budget planner is what is needed here and also considering an exemption if they meet the criteria for an overnight carer. The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0 -

Motability is great if you can use a normal car or the disabled person travels in the boot but for the most severely disabled who cant travel in a normal car or be shut away in the boot motability only help those that pass a means test and are prepared to travel in the cheapest possible vehicle which often hasnt been crash tested.
People like me who like the opitunity to drive from wheelchair when they are well enough to do so have to fund our own wheelchair accessable vehicles with costs of £30k or more and our own insurance ect. to pay for on top of the cost of the vehicle.
Every time I go out and drive I get stopped by people who are intrested in my vehicle, they love it and are very intrested in it until I tell them how much it costs, over £68,000 new!0 -

Does not mean a thing the laws have been changed after that date and the latter law states the tenancy rules not the boxroom.
EG. take a 3 bedroom house (boxroom or not) you pay for a 3 bedroom house.0 -

Good grief how many times has this been posted.
It doesnt make a bit of difference, it's what on your tennancy agreement that counts.
I'd love it to be true though.Bedroom Tax / Spare room subsidy / Housing Benefit Reduction - It's the same thing, get over it.0 -
The JPG relates to overcrowding, (bedspaces) not underoccupation.0

I totally agree sunnyone and I know it is very expensive to self fund an adapted vehicle you can drive yourself in this situation.
The deposits are still large though to meet many people's needs, there has been an improvement in wheelchair accessible vehicles costs in recent years (whether in the boot or not, compared to what the deposits used to be!). I actually don't agree with Motability funding bog standard vehicles for recipients because if you have no specific needs other than a normal car why should the scheme be funding it?
I would fully support more funding for people in your situation. The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0
