Carers allowance? It is normally classed as income for some benefitsTomorrow is the most important thing in life0

Unfortunately Discretionary Housing Payments are based on local criteria set by the individual Local Authority, and in most cases take ALL income and expenditure into account.
Do you need the extra room for your daughter's disability in anyway? The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0 -
There is no such thing as bedroom tax. Your housing benefit has been cut as you have more rooms than you NEED. Discretionary housing payments are discretionary, they don't have to pay them.0

Given that your monthly net income is £2,489 I would have thought that you could well afford to pay £68 a month rent.0

Not to mention the £435 a month on groceries for 2 adults and 1 child.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
and cable tv at £25 a month get rid of that and you only need another £43Nothing to see here, move along.0

This is what gives those in 'real' need a bad press. You have also taken into account your daughters DLA as an expense - and if this isn't a mistake means you have about £2800 per month in benefits, plus a mobility car, and over £400/month in food!. And you are going bankrupt. 2 adults in the house and only one working bringing in just £266 per month? And you are complaining about a reduction in benefits of £68/month. You have got to be kidding, or maybe this a (hopefully) a joke.

reason for no car expenses mobility car0 -
I would ask them to check their calculations. From your SOA you posted very recently you should pay £64.26 pm (£14.83 pw), not £68 and your council tax bill should also be lower.
I think as mysterywoman said earlier they look at income v outgoings, are you still paying £280 pm to your debts or have you stopped this if going bankrupt? If you still need to pay £280 pm as part of your IVA I can see how you will struggle, but once BR kicks in then you will have the £280 pm you have been using for debts.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -
the issue the OP has, is clearly one of budgeting and not of inability to pay.
but the venom aimed at them is distasteful to say the least.
i can almost imagine the glee some posters deem to feel when given the opportunity to put the boot in!
the venom directed at the OP, who on paper anyway, appears to have a healthy income, is no different to the bile spouted at others who are losing 20% of their cash income to this reduction in hb.
it has nothing to do with income, just some dont like the idea that some people get 'something for nothing' ( in their opinion)0 -
It is not venom, as you call it. At times, people on this site do not need their ego massaged, or provided with infinite sympathy.
This person has more than most hard working families have as an income and is complaining that she has to fund another £60 to help keep her house that is too big for her, at an already subsidised rate.
So excuse us, if we do not throw sympathy and care towards her current situation...
Some times people ned to be told straight...0
