I was reading the SOA monthly income details - £2489 and then adding the daughter's DLA £569 which seems to be in the wrong part of the SOA - is my adding or the addition of the DLA wrong? As I said that is purely a factual effort to understand what is being said so I can rephrase the question - would a millionaire's or any other recipient of high mobility component be additional to the DLA here. I just really want to understand how things work.
No they have used the DLA as an outgoing as its to be used for disability needs (that is why it's an expense). That is my reading of their SOA, just like they put rent down etc.
Yes. You swap the mobility rate of DLA for a car, so instead of money get a car.
Whether the OP has put this part of DLA in or out of figures I can't say.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -
from what you are saying you seem to be accepting that is actually correct, not a spoof/troll post? I have read the 'numbers' of people monthly income before but I guess I just skimmed over them before, not really understood or thought about how much that actually is in terms of what a working person would take home after tax and national insurance. I used this link to work it out - http://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/salary.php
Again please dont shoot me down as I am truly trying to understand and be clear but can someone explain to me about 'reason for no car expenses mobility car' - is this a separate benefit which should also be included in the total benefit package or part of a DLA package.
In answer to your question about DLA mobility if you have a car on motability you would not see any of the money it gets paid directly to the dealer/motability. DLA is not taken into account when calculating benefits entitlement. For a discretionary housing payment as it is not a benefit any income can be taken into account including DLA but they would not normally count income not received i.e. DLA mobility if it was being use for a car.
People really have no idea the cost to a family (and I don't just mean financial) when caring for a severely disabled child. We were lucky my husband was able to keep his job, because he had a very sympathetic employer. Most people really have no idea what it is like and in my opinion should not seek to judge what that family may or may not be going through. The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0 -

Which is why you see figures like the OP.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -
So is it correct that the motility car plus car insurance, MOT, service, tax etc are in addition to the £3058 monthly income?MFW 2013 #117

It is not really relevant to my question if the money goes to the dealership or the High mobility component recipient as what I am asking is if use of the car, MOT, insurance etc is something that is additional to the £3058 monthly income. Is that correct - it is additional to?MFW 2013 #117

The topic of the original post was, simply, that the OP can comfortably afford another £58/month in rent; which most actually agreed with. That is all! Stop clouding the issue with your judgements about what you think you know about 'most people'.0 -
No it is not additional income in that instance, it is a car on lease. The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0

does the high mobility component, pay for the lease ie the use of the car?MFW 2013 #117

The bottom line is this is not a forum to judge people whether you like it or not it is about benefits entitlement.
They asked a question which was answered about DHP. They did not ask for a judgement on whether they could afford it or not*. When will people actually grasp the rules of the forum?
What are you on about bloolagoon and DLA? I don't make the benefit rules DLA is discounted for calculation of benefits entitlement it is non means tested. A court of law has also upheld that DLA is not for the purpose of housing costs.
EDIT Well ok they did, ask on how they could afford it, although what that has to do with benefits I've no idea. It should be on budget planning!!The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0 -

I don't know because I get different figures from calculators, only the OP can explain. I get £356 pw plus Dla.
Sorry not me personally - I meant when I use ops data in the turn to us, it gave the above resultTomorrow is the most important thing in life0
