eBay states you have 3 days to pay, therefore you have 3 days to pay. End of story. How many people pay their credit card bills when they are actually due rather than as soon as the statement comes in? Yet no credit company opens cases against them all or similar for not paying fast enough..0 -

Therefore if you dont pay within those 3 days you will get an npb case opened against you. End of story.
I do find it incredible that some people have such apathy in regards to paying for something they have bought.
I wonder if that same apathy applies when delivery isnt as quick as they think it should be.
For me and i do buy a lot of stuff every month, i would think i was being rude and ignorant if i didnt pay for something i had bought within 24 hrs . Its purely just bad manners.0 -
I've just been catching up on this thread.
At least it's some clue to the mindset of a person who doesn't think it's necessary to pay promptly when an auction is won.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I don't want a 'faster payment' I just want paying, and I don't want to deal with people who don't understand that.
If that really is the case then you won't mind waiting until day 4 to open a NPB case.As for credit card statements, using your own scenario you wouldn't bother paying it until they send reminders and are really really gentle with you and explain what will happen if you don't pay. I am of course assuming you miss the 'pay in x date' on the statement just as you appear to suggest that people miss the 'pay now' button on eBay.
No, using my own scenario I would pay the credit card bill within the time given. Under your scenario you'd receive a letter about non-payment the day before the payment due date. Once again I've already explained the 'pay now' label. Go back and re-read.All this began when someone opened a NPB case on day 4. Interesting.
eBay changed what it states in the help pages mid-way through. When this began eBay just said you needed to pay but didn't say when, suggesting buyers check seller's listings to see if they say when they want paying by. It's only recently they put in the 3 day rule which is why it's now fair to open a case after that length of time. Before it wasn't as there was no deadline to miss. Therefore if you dont pay within those 3 days you will get an npb case opened against you. End of story.
Exactly. You have to give them those 3 days to pay.I do find it incredible that some people have such apathy in regards to paying for something they have bought.

If you are given 3 days to pay then you have every right to take those 3 days if you need it or even just if it would be more convenient. It's not 'bad manners' at all. If you have a credit card do you pay off every purchase you make within 24 hours or do you wait until it's actually due?0 -

To move the argument on and to keep winding you up,where does Ebay give 3 days for buyers to pay? They don't, as it has been with disputes open on the fourth day and then not being able to close for another 4 days, a buyer had at least 7 days to pay.
To use your flawed credit card argument, if I don't pay my credit card bill on the due date I incur charges. I could probably manage to not pay for a few months before they actually take me to court. By your logic that means I have all the time until I receive court papers to pay..0 -
I congratulate you on your tenacity, everyone tells you you are wrong, yet you persevere, well done.

Also using the flawed credit card argument that stacface keeps reiterating do you also think there should be charges incurred for late payment?0 -
Ok, it is probably just me...but for some reason I have the urge to start opening NPBs on day 2 now just out of devilment.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
