Do you think they buy mine, 1 careful owner0

We used them recently. Had our second car on autotrader for a month without anyone being interested. The price was as recommended by Autotrader and fitted in with others on the site. We needed to shift it so went to WBAC. The online price offered was about £500 less than Autotrader but we liked the fact it would go. Took it down there and they gave it a good look over. Not really interested in anything other than bodywork and number of keys/paperwork. They used a paint thickness monitor on each panel to detect repairs. They took off some more money due to scratched that I hadn't picked up on during my cursory look to put into their online system.
Overall we got a reasonable price and got rid of the car - we knew it would be less as they do have a service to fulfil and obviously make their money. Those saying people who use it are dumb are just silly - sometimes price isn't everything when you need to sell your car...
Would recommend them if you have a half decent car to get rid of in a set time and cant wait around for the right buyer.
Do you think it'd have shifted privately if you knocked the £500 (+ chip + buying fee) off?0 -
Appointment at we buy any car at the Runcorn branch on the 11.01.2017.
Previously i got a Valuation on the webuyanycar Webpage for my Ford Focus 1.6, Titanium, excellent condition, very low mileage, Reg 2010, 33 k miles, Value was set by 4500 . I checked the Internet Sites like autotrader, Motors etc. The cheapest similar Car i could find with similar mileage was 6000 or higher. OK, so they want to have 1500 possible Profit. lets check this out.
The Appointment took exactly 30 seconds.
I went in, set down, he said hope you know that any little scratch or thing i see on the car is dropping the value, so if you are not ready to sell the car for less then 4500 its a waist of time and i am not willing to go out into the cold and even have a look at it. (on every used cars there are at least 2 little smallest scratches or things to see, but not on mine). i replied there are none. He said there are and i will not buy your car for 4500. I stood up and said good bye and left.
To me this is a company that only is looking to find people who are desperate for money and they are trying to take advantage out of some peoples misfortune Situation. I understand that they need to make profit but that was just to off-putting to me. Like flying with the old spanish airways SABENA, guess that stands for Such A Bloddy Expirience Never Again.
We buy any car is not for the normal carowner who just wants to sell his car for a fair price.0 -

Vultures preying on the needy.
Website said £5000 so booked an appointment.
They found tiny and I mean tiny scratches x 4 (one was the size of a pinhead UNDER the bonnet).
Revised offer of £4740. Utter joke and a waste of time.
Sold to a local dealer 2 hours later for £5100 (and no fee!)
Don't bother...really!0 -
Hi
I used last year when we got another brand new car.
I describe the car well - the only bit they picked up that I did not was some scuffs in one of the rea and front wheels on my S class. The lady that represented the co was very nice and she could just see the car had been looked after, offered me the on line price and then said, "are you have with the price."? TBH I was as I expected to be beaten down, she gave me another 8% to my surpise from her own commison.
So all in all really good, and I paid a few quid extra for same day payment into bank as I worry and did not want to lose 27k if company folded - did not have to bother with time wasters

Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time there was a careful owner with a 2006 Renault Clio, with v low mileage at 52k. Some minor scratches to body work in good condition for its age, book value £800-£1000 dependant on condition etc. Had for 6 years with no issues, full MOT history, V5, all service stamps present and loads of receipts/invoices for work done and tyre changes etc. Good news so far, but stick with me for a very UNHAPPY ending.
Recently WeBuyAnycCar (WBAC) valued it at a Milton Keynes branch. The vehicle was inspected in person by the staff, I pointed out ALL marks and the vehicle was running as it was still very much in use. Gave him all information needed to provide an accurate valuation. Note: HE entered all details on to their website with me there. The vehicle is a category D which devalues it from list price to around £600, again dependant on history, mileage, condition etc and (N.B. important plot point coming up ) I informed the guy of this and it was taken into account in their valuation.
Valuation - £415 pounds, which was acceptable as I didn’t want the hassle of selling privately. Yes their very slick adverts focus on this; “Value your time over a few* extra quid?...” We’ve all seen them right? Price guaranteed, right? WRONG. (Also will be a LOT* less quid).
Fast forward a week. I’ve found a car I want to buy it’s in a different part of the UK, I make an appointment with the local WBAC branch and go to drop off my Clio.
First off I’m kept waiting for 15 minutes, then after several disgruntled customers in front of me in the queue leave, unhappy with their valuation or offers, it’s my turn.
Doing research online I was prepared for them to try and talk me down and not give me what they’d ‘guaranteed’, hence my original precaution of going in person with said vehicle to Milton Keynes and providing ALL documents for this appointment along with the emailed quote which I printed out with reference number.
There followed the most elaborate example of “Computer says NO” you can imagine. Talk about bare-faced. Anything but honour their ‘guaranteed’ valuation. Mysteriously when they entered my details now they couldn’t find my quote, despite Ref. Number, and now could only offer me just over £270. Every excuse was offered; You didn’t enter your car details properly online– I didn’t enter the detailsYou cant have described the condition accurately - WBAC inspected/described it themselvesOh, it’s only valid for 7 days –YES this is day 7, IT’S STILL VALIDFinally; he cant have inputted that it was a Category D – He DID I watched him. On one of YOUR computers. That’s his job, he does it all day, every day.So when they say it’s a ‘guaranteed’ valuation they are lying, it’s NOT. I had a valuation from Evans Halshaw for £420, also did a valuation myself online which gave me an accurate price for my car. When people make appointments to sell in a different location from their address WBAC know it’s safe to assume the customer will be buying a new car there and therefore need to sell a vehicle to be able to drive away a new one.
They feel they have the upper hand and that you will have to give in and accept a lower value. It is COMPANY POLICY to ensure valuations are lowered to at least 25% less than that ‘guaranteed’. Don’t take my word for it; a short online search shows up examples of their past shady practices which still carry on to this very day. As I say, a sorry tale of Dishonest Scammers and Time wasters
You have been warned, you will not live happily ever after.
THE END0 -
Don't expect to get anything near what their "guaranteed valuation" says you will get!!!
2008 Audi A3 170bhp TDI in S Line trim, low milage.... valued online at £4000 (which was harsh enough).... after inspection I was offered £3350 because he found 2 small stone chips on the bonnet and 1 wheel had a tiny scuff on it! Told him it's a 9 year old car and what did he expect! Almost £700 knocked off for something I could fix myself for around £50! Seriously, don't waste your time with these cowboys unless you're realllllllllly desperate!!! :mad:0 -
Am curious about any business links between WBAC and EVANS Halshaw who they make great play on when you visit.
My experience is I had my car valued online at £3500. I then adjusted the details about the car and sought a evaluation. Inevitably the valuation went down £3345.
I then went in to see the company. They were not prepared to offer more.
I then went to EVANS Halshaw. They began with the £3345 valuation from WBAC and proceeded to knock more money off for the damage I'd reported. Thus, the car was seemingly being devalued twice for the same damage!!
The car was eventually valued at £2995 with the salesman saying this was the same value as WBAC but was more because they we not going to charge the £50 admin fee.
What is going on ?????0 -
I sold my 55 plate (nearly 12 years old) Toyota Yaris through WBAC.com. I was scrupulously honest about the condition (loads of car-park scrapes, supermarket trolley scratches, etc.). On line, their admin fee of £49.99 was clearly stated; and they "guaranteed" me £800 - odd pounds. In the event, I've netted just over £900. Moral of the story: be really accurate in your description! And to the posters who didn't like their offers, you could always walk away.0
